Ocean lingered behind as Cassie approached. “Hi, I’m Cassie Munroe. And you are?”
The boy rose smoothly, meeting her gaze and giving a firm handshake.
“My name doesn’t matter,” he said coolly. “But just so you know, I’m ten. People think I’m twelve or thirteen.”
“I actually thought you were fifteen,” Cassie said politely.
He lowered his gaze for a brief moment, almost shyly. “That’s why I want to lose weight, but nothing’s worked so far. My grandparents say it’s genetic. My dad thinks it’s just because I’m a kid and I’ll grow out of it.”
