“The yellow looks nice.” “It does,” I said, holding the swatch up to the wall. “But I worry that yellow will keep the baby awake.” Her eyebrows lifted. “Yellow has that effect?” “Allegedly,” I said, then held up the pink and shook my head. Too gendered. Same with the baby blue. Even the sage green just didn’t feel… right. “I think I need more swatches,” I sighed.

I open my design app to play around with ideas for their new branch. A dark aesthetic immediately comes to mind. The entire company feels dark and mysterious so I’m sure the boss would appreciate it. Its top was wreathed in a halo of sickly green and magenta light, throbbing in slow, steady beats—like a toxic heartbeat.

“You have a beautiful place.” The house is a two story but it’s very spacious and airy. Glass walls that allow the outside to seep in. there are trees, greenery outside and it make it feel like we are in the middle of a forest even though I can tell we are in the suburbs, a few kilometres from the city. I know he loves dark green too because his bedroom has that dark moody aesthetic he always seems to have in his houses, but this one, the walls are green, the bed sheets are green, and now here in his kitchen, there are green undertones too.

It’s soothing, like the color of trees and grass. It’s natural, peaceful. I think it’ll be perfect for the baby. Don’t you think?”

I was too absent minded to listen to their introductions. "Green is timeless, bold and very beautiful..." Just like my Eve. "It is the perfect color because it compliments every other color right there, it flatters almost all skin tones and would stand out when pictures are taken. Pretty sure, it would pop beautifully with the runway lighting. Lastly, green is associated with wealth, luxury, elegance..." And it reminds me of someone very close to my heart. I didn't add this part though... They would all think it was the reason I chose green which was the main reason anyways. "Ohh, you just literally changed my mind, Mr Gray." One said with a chuckle.

Dominic’s POV: The nursery was filled with the scent of fresh paint and new wood, a subtle fragrance that was soothing rather than overwhelming. That was the intention. When Nero and I are married, I’ll be gutting most of this. I’m thinking lighter tones. Creams, golds. Something that screams legacy, not… whatever this gloom is.”
