Some part of the tattoo even showed as the first three buttons of his shirt were off, his black waistcoat hugging his perfect figure. Paride looked like the Angel of Death. Slowly, he placed the book with the name 'A Thousand Ways to Torture A Person While Keeping Them Awake.' and waved a hand in the air, causing a man that stood in the corner of his office walk towards the blond one, a poker expression on his face.

The cursor blinked, and the text continued: "Your blood contains the core sequence of Project 030. It can repair neural damage and reverse cellular aging. Those rumors are all true." Avery's breath hitched. She gripped the edge of the desk, steadying her trembling body as she waited for the next line. "But, Avery, remember this. No person and no price can ever force you to make a sacrifice. Only if you choose. Unless you nod your head, no one can take it from you." Her hand stayed fixed on the screen. She remembered Wenger's words—"The awakening will consume you." She had thought her own genes were harming her.

When she realizes he's drowsy enough to lose consciousness , she decides her work here has been done and sneaks out .
