Chapter 16 Hadley Avery envelopes me in a hug. I feel overwhelming emotion running through me, but somehow the happiness overwhelms the need for tears to spill. Smiling would have been the way to go but my face rather resembles a deer in headlights. Henry shouted, "No! Yelena, I will never divorce you! And the child—why did you never tell me about it?" His voice trembled as he spoke. He was probably regretting it, but what was the use of regret? We could never go back. No matter how hard he tried, it was over. "I will never agree to a divorce!" Henry insisted. "Don't joke with me. This isn't funny at all." So, he thought I was joking.

"Happiness isn't about how much money you have." "That's just an excuse poor people make," Charles sneered. "With me, Sophia gets to wear fancy Chanel dresses, sparkling Bulgari jewelry, and carry stylish Hermès bags. We spend our summers on sunny Zyrene beaches and our winters skiing in the Aldren Peaks. What can you offer her? Scratchy clothes and tough steaks?" The words stung, and I glanced at Brandon, worried he might crumble. However, he just smiled and asked, "If Sophia's so wonderful, why did you hurt her before?"
