Then I turn and walk away. I don’t rush. I don’t stop. And I don’t look back this time. Because there is nothing behind me that I can carry forward anymore.

Not ever. I didn’t even look back.

But I didn't move, if I left, I would have another secret and he would have the upper hand. “Go” He repeated. His tone held finality and without any protest, I opened the door, slammed it shut, got into my car, and drove home without looking back. My hands were shaking as I held onto the wheels. My whole body shook and my eyes were glued to the road in front of me “Don’t look back. You can’t afford it” I reminded myself repeatedly over and over again while praying that this wouldn’t be the end of me. And if eventually, it wasn't, then I would be in a more bigger trouble.

I don't say anything to that. I just keep walking, without looking back.

Yet he never fulfilled it. “No one’s stopping you to sleep with Nichole, Miles. Not even me.” The Alpha’s lips thinned into a disappointing expression. I paused for a moment just to show him I’m considering his offer. But a heartbeat later, I continued walking without hesitation. I’ve learned that once you've decided to move forward, don't ever dare look back or you’ll find yourself being trapped by your past again. I paused to glance at him one last time. And then I walked away, without ever looking back.

And this time, when I walked away… I was never looking back.

Henry shouted, "No! Yelena, I will never divorce you! And the child—why did you never tell me about it?" His voice trembled as he spoke. He was probably regretting it, but what was the use of regret? We could never go back. No matter how hard he tried, it was over. "I will never agree to a divorce!" Henry insisted. "Don't joke with me. This isn't funny at all." So, he thought I was joking.

Grandpa Holston closed his eyes tiredly. He continued in a deep voice “Don’t look back. Live your life well. Michelle was your choice. Don’t let her down as well.” Daniel had no idea how he hung up or what his grandpa said after saying that she moved on. He couldn’t believe how she could. Why didn’t she wait a little longer for him to wake up?

I answered dismissively, walking away with my head held high. I will not cry. I will not cry. I will not look back. I will not look back. I kept repeating these words like a mantra. I know if I look back, I’ll break. If I look back and he still has that look in those eyes I wanted to drown in… I’ll break. I can’t break, least of all in front of my pack or him. I won’t let my mate know he hurt me.

I didn't look back. But I left the door open.
