A night with a stranger

she said sniffing and the man was still holding tight to her. " No, is getting hotter here, I am burning inside, help me ". his voice became demanding before Maya could say another word his lips were on hers, and Maya wide-eyed in surprise and struggled to push him off but he was holding on tight as he kept kissing her deeply and roughly, she could taste the alcohol in his mouth and he started caressing her body after she got tired of struggling with him. She suddenly got lost in his tender touch, she had never felt like this for anyone before, her body was giving in to the strange man, she slid her fingers through his hair and let out a moan as the man carried her to the bed. His lips began

Nine Times Too Late

Nine Times Too Late

I snapped. Leticia must have been late. She wanted to marry me so badly. She would not miss the wedding. Where was she? Why had she disappeared? What had happened? The chapel bell struck one. The low tolling sounded like a dull knife cutting into my chest. Leticia did not come. The whispers had turned into open ridicule. I heard every word. Don Colombo was played by a woman. The Buono Principessa finally woke up. Serves him right.

A Stranger in My Marriage

A Stranger in My Marriage

Almost instinctively, I pulled out my phone and checked my browsing history for the video from last night. In it, the side profiles of the two elderly people were identical to the faces of my in-laws standing before me now. If the clip hadn't flashed by so quickly, I would have recognized them right away. And in other videos—those fleeting, fragmented moments—my wife, Cynthia Muller, appeared again and again, holding a child in her arms. The little boy called her "Mom" with intimate affection. Under a sky lit by fireworks, the man held her close and kissed her.

Nine years to find you

Nine years to find you

Nine years since that wedding and since my father stood on those church steps and told the entire world I'd lost my mind, and somehow that lie had followed me all the way here, waiting patiently for exactly this moment to strike? I knew instantly who was behind it. Only one man in the world still had access to those old records and still had enough motive and enough money to weaponize them nine years later. Dorian. Outside, sirens started up somewhere down the block, growing louder, closer, red and blue light beginning to bleed faintly through the gap in my curtains. Kelly burrowed deeper against my chest, her small body trembling now, her breathing coming in short, frightened gasps that wor

My Ninety-Nine Dads

My Ninety-Nine Dads

At the very end, James placed my hand into Elijah’s. “Kid, she’s yours now. “But remember this. “She’ll always be the daughter of ninety-nine men.” As we exchanged rings, a thunderous roar echoed across the sky. Ninety-nine helicopters formed four giant words overhead. [Congratulations, Newlyweds.] When I was thirty-two, I gave birth to twins—a boy and a girl. Outside the delivery room, ninety-nine white-haired old men packed the entire hallway. The head nurse almost thought a mafia war was about to break out inside the hospital.

Ninety-Nine Times Too Many

Ninety-Nine Times Too Many

I waited for eight years. What I got was his ninety-ninth canceled wedding, watching him hold another woman in his arms while feeding her drinks, and him forcing my hands onto broken glass just to make another woman happy. That was when I woke up from the dream. When I opened my eyes, dawn was already breaking outside. Pale light spread across the ocean’s surface. The pillow beneath my face was damp, though I didn’t know when I had started crying. The things happening back in Corholt reached me through the Anderson family’s intelligence network.

Three Strikes to Goodbye

Three Strikes to Goodbye

It was a rare opportunity that might never come again. But he never came to pick me up. He said something urgent had come up but that he'd be done with it soon, begging me to wait for him outside the theater. Standing at the entrance, with the concert about to begin, I finally saw a car that looked like his approaching from a distance. I was angry and was about to turn and leave, but the car suddenly made a sharp U-turn and sped away. Half an hour later, Caleb finally called. "I'm sorry, Sienna. Lila was suddenly admitted into the emergency room. I was already at the theater when I got the call. I swear, I even bought you flowers—"

The Surrogate’s Blade

The Surrogate’s Blade

It is nine because I bought pending status too late for three bodies the Director had already placed in the sentence before I read it. They do not move like rescued people. Freshly rescued people are supposed to clutch each other and cry and look back at the burning house with gratitude. These nine move like people who have been removed from one room of a slaughterhouse and are not stupid enough to mistake the hallway for freedom. One man keeps touching his own throat where a tube used to be. His nails come away with dried adhesive. One of the children refuses to let Sarah near him until Hale, appearing from the service lift with Nell still bundled in blue, tells him Sarah is loud but useful

The Stranger's Baby

The Stranger's Baby

“What do you mean?” “I need something strong.” Melissa dropped her handbag on the arm of the couch and made her way into the kitchen with her stained blazer. She dumped the blazer into the washing machine, then went in search of the strongest drink they had in the fridge. Shutting the door of the fridge, Melissa came face to face with Emily. She sighed. “I bumped into him.” “Who?” Emily frowned. “I don’t know. I don’t know his name. The stranger.” “What stranger? Of course, we just moved to this city, everyone is a stranger.”

Very nice & sweet book. The FL is a bit difficult but both she and the ML have been hurt before so their road is a bit bumpy. Sometimes a bit confusing when it's not clear who's speaking. I expected a lot more scheming but it was enough. Both are spicy, have lovely kids and Damien is the best!
