Nine years to find you

Nine years to find you

"Thank you." She smiled, warm and reassuring, and for a moment I felt like maybe I wasn't completely alone. …….. The knock on my door jolted me out of my restless half-sleep. I wasn't expecting anyone and the thought of facing another human being made my stomach turn. I was constantly nauseous and very edgy of late. But the knocking persisted so I dragged myself to the door. Dorian Carrington stood on my doorstep, perfectly dressed, smiling like he hadn't just shown up unannounced at eight in the morning.

My Ninety-Nine Dads

My Ninety-Nine Dads

One, two, ten, fifty… A total of ninety-nine men walked out from every direction, gathering into an impenetrable wall of people that completely surrounded him. Then, in Daniel’s terrified eyes, ninety-nine voices exploded like thunder and swept across all of South City. “How about you try and touch our daughter one more time?!”

The 99 Seconds

The 99 Seconds

Cassandra said calmly, and the line disconnected. Cassandra stepped inside her apartment, locating her room with a large stripe. She was already done in the shower when the doorbell rang. It was Inez. She got dressed quickly before proceeding to the door. As she opened the door, Inez hugged her immediately before urging her to lay plain the gist. Cassandra leisurely located the couch while Inez sat adjacent to her, impatiently beckoning Cassandra to start speaking. Cassandra rested a hand under her cheek before throwing in the news, “ I slept with a stranger, a total stranger, she admitted.

A Stranger I Met

A Stranger I Met

Though the prisoners seemed to dread this — I now understood why — it was a moment to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful sunlight — rare gems I had come to appreciate. While we were lined up before the commandant the previous day — a fierce-looking middle-aged man with an old fashioned helmet covering his bald head — one of the prisoners: a skinny looking old man who stammered a lot, was caught whispering words to his partner while the commandant was speaking. According to how everyone had reacted, I knew it was a grave sin to speak when the commandant was. I was new here and so was taking note of everything. I didn't want to get into trouble even when some of the officers that stood watch

Ok so I just read this book tho I'm not done, it's so alluring and I'm already hooked. I can't wait to continue. It describes exactly how a person would feel and react in such situation as the characters. It's really relatable. Amazing job, author ♥️♥️

PROTECTED BY THE WEREWOLF

PROTECTED BY THE WEREWOLF

She put her glasses on her nose and continued to look at the page. "Are you reading Heinlein?" I looked at the title of her book. "A stranger in a strange land". A lump rose in my throat as I read the title. This had been one of Dad's favorite books. Pietra nodded. “Rereading, actually. I love all of the Heinlein stories. She blushed even deeper, as if she'd revealed some deep personal secret. "Me too," I said. The electricity between us surged, pulling me toward her like two opposing charges. — I love the way Heinlen uses Smith's character to force the reader to see his own prejudices.

The Stranger He Became

The Stranger He Became

She stood at the back of the elevator, her chestnut hair cascading down her back like a waterfall, and her burnt-orange top glowed like a sunset on a summer evening. The doors of the elevator began to slowly slide shut. Impulsively, he darted towards the elevator, missing it by a split second, as the door slammed close before he got there. He checked the elevator display screen on the wall. "Nineteenth floor," it read. Each passing moment felt like an eternity, and he felt the hope that sparked in his chest when he saw her alighting from the cab, drenching away. He felt like he was losing her again.

One Night with a Stranger

One Night with a Stranger

My headache was getting worse and worse as I struggled to recall what had happened. Slowly, fragments of what transpired the day before began to resurface in my mind. Immediately after Brix dumped me, and I saw him banging another woman, I went to a bar and drank, and to my surprise... When I realized what had happened between the stranger in bed and me, I was shocked and horrified. "I had sex with a complete stranger!" I disregarded the nagging voice in my head that appeared like it was saying something "What a fool! In bed with a naked man, why do you think you're naked?"

Frequently Asked Questions

The nine strangers in 'Nine Perfect Strangers' are a mix of people who end up at Tranquillum House, a wellness retreat that promises transformation. There's Frances, a romance novelist dealing with a career slump and personal betrayal. Tony's a former football star hiding his struggles. The Marconi family—Napoleon, Heather, and Zoe—are grieving a tragic loss. Lars is a sharp divorce lawyer who's more vulnerable than he lets on. Carmel seems sweet but has a darker edge. Ben and Jessica are a young couple whose marriage is crumbling under financial stress. Each arrives broken in some way, but the retreat's mysterious leader, Masha, has plans that go beyond typical therapy.

What makes the group compelling is how their flaws clash and connect. Frances' wit masks loneliness, while Tony's bravado hides shame. The Marconis' grief isolates them, yet they're the heart of the group. Lars' cynicism contrasts with Carmel's desperate need for validation. Ben and Jessica's wealth can't fix their emptiness. Masha manipulates them all, but the real story is how they save each other.
