"Try." I was angry. I was humiliated. I was in pain. "Fine!" I lunged, my good arm shoving against his chest. It was like shoving a wall of granite. I didn't move him an inch. I just... bounced off. He didn't laugh. He just shook his head. "You pushed with your arms. You are not a warrior. You are a child. Again." I pushed again. "Again." I shoved, my teeth gritted.

“Marjorie pushed at what she wrongfully thought was my weakness and expected me to bow, but I don’t bow.” His lips curled up at the sides as he flashed me one of his rare smiles. “You push back.” “Yes,” I exhaled. “I push back.”
