It was some minutes past 6pm. Caitlyn Hugh was dragging her tired feet back home after a long day at work. As she walked along the lonely road, she looked back at intervals, hoping for a cab to appear. Although she was very much aware that cabs do not ply that road, Caitlyn prayed for a miracle. She took out her phone from the small bag she hung on her shoulder and connected her headset to the device. She was going to click play on her favourite music, but the sound of a car honking halted her.

"Noelle is Charles's better half. You've met her, right?" Liliana nodded, her voice tinged with surprise. "Is she pregnant?" She remembered Noelle well, especially because she looked so much like Kelly. The news of Noelle's possible pregnancy surprised Liliana and spurned a deep sense of empathy. Her heart clenched with a sudden ache, but she managed to keep her composure and not let her feelings show.

she corrected, unable to hide the displeasure in her tone, but Silas ignored her. “Don’t keep me waiting.” Noelle clutched the purple gown she was wearing in fear and walked to the bed before crawling onto it. She couldn’t believe she was about to get on the same bed as the Lycan prince, and it scared her. She could only hope he wouldn’t be ruthless and force her into anything she didn’t want to do. “T-thank you for saving me from Kole,” Noelle said as soon as she lay on the bed. She had said that to break the tension in the room. There was a brief silence before Silas finally spoke.

Right now, she needed to focus on her and Ray. She wanted to look nice for Ray, so she went into her closet and picked out one of her favorite dresses. It was a backless halter dress in the color emerald green that came to just below her knees. She picked out a pair of black strapless sandals. She didn’t need any fancy footwear. The ceremony would be held at the pack field and she wouldn’t actually need shoes. She wouldn’t need clothes either, but she had no intention of showing up in front of Ray’s pack naked. She’d keep her clothes on in public until absolutely necessary, thank you very much.
