She narrowed her eyes in a daze before she suddenly shook her head hastily. “I have a few friends and colleagues, Dad, and I know anybody can hate me and do that to me. But the only people I’m seeing, for now, are Rose and Cindy, and they can never do that to me,” She said confidently. She trusts her best friends so much, so she would rather stay with them for the time being.

He said, “No! We are just friends.” “Really?” Alice looked at Rene skeptically. George might be too embarrassed to admit it, she thought. Rene answered, looking at George, “Well, we are sort of friends.” “What do you mean by ‘sort of’?” Alice pursued. “You know, everyone has a different definition of ‘friend.’ If he says we are friends, then we are.” Alice asked, Puzzled, “What are you guys talking about? “In other words, he is the only ‘friend’ I have.”
