Novel By Philip Roth Mga Nobela at Kwento

That came over too abruptly, so I added for further discomfort, ‘I’m rather fond of Philip Roth novels. I searched my memory for a title. My little pretence could backfire if she realised how clueless I was. ‘I find they tells it how it is,' I added, just to let the brat out. There! That did it. It was a risk bragging about an author I’d never heard of, but I felt the need to do a bit of protest after my earlier simpering performance. On reflection I thought I’d probably manoeuvred myself back to the dole queue. Wrong again.

I left Aaron for the meantime on the part where the fountain pens are to go to the novel section. Since I saw Sophie Lark's Brutal Prince on TikTok's recommendation, people who have read this say that it has a strong female lead. I enjoy books of that genre, therefore I may be interested in reading it. I looked at the shelves. I also picked up a book and read the synopsis on the back when Aaron came to me here. "You like reading books?" he asked. I turned my eyes on him, "Uh, sometimes. If I'm interested in the plot," I answered.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 hours late I stretch my arms over my head and groan. I started with English. I didn't realize how behind I am with my reading. I almost panicked when I saw this year's novel. It's 1984 by George Orwell, who thought this would be a good idea. On a normal day I would have enjoyed it but right now I'm on a deadline to complete three assignments based on the book.

JEFFREY My eyes locked on the title. Philip’s Room. By Raven Black. He raised a brow at me, before flipping a page calmly. “You know it?” ‘I wrote it.’ My heart kicked hard in my chest. I could barely breathe for a second. “Yeah,” I said, keeping my tone even. “It’s… a pretty good book.” Ronald shot a bland look at me. “It’s more than that. I’ve read it four times.” He turned another page. “The way it builds slow tension, how the main character keeps denying what’s obvious... it’s brilliant. Quietly devastating.”
