Secrets and Second Chances

Secrets and Second Chances

How could I sleep with my two eyes closed, knowing that Angela might be plotting my desk just to take over my empire? I tried watching a movie on my phone, but it wasn't helping. I got bored in the end. However, the slumber I wished for never came. Rather, my eyes widened like I was some sort of security at a company. In the process of trying to figure out a perfect solution, my eyes caught a glimpse of a bottle of liquor beside the bed. I smiled. “Now that's what I'm talking about,” But the moment I remembered the doctor's warning against the intake of liquor, sadness strolled back to my face again.

Technical Love

I inhaled the fresh sweet of the garden with my eyes shut and breathed it out. I brought out a novel from my hand bag which I bought from a bookstore last week. The name of the novel was In His World written by an author named Russell. I was really enjoying the book, the book was about a weird prince called Chad and a woman named Amelia, it wasn't just a normal romance novel, it was filled with a lot of thrillers and interesting plot twists. The book was slow burn, In the current chapter I was in Prince Chad and Amelia had just started to get along with each other and this made me happy, but I was also very curious about the ending of the book, whether Prince Chad and Amelia would later fall

The Taste of Submission

The Taste of Submission

She glanced back down at the leather-bound book resting on the floorboards beside her. The empty pages seemed to stare up at her, daring her to turn them. With a trembling hand, she picked it up again, the leather warm against her palm. She knew she should get up, should finish unpacking, should do something practical, anything to distract herself from the throbbing between her legs. But she couldn't. She was hooked. The anonymous writer had become a guide, a seductress whispering secrets into her ear, and Pinky was a willing student, desperate to learn every lesson.

My Mate And My Revenge

I could feel an intense gaze on me but i didn’t dare to look at the direction it’s coming from. I opened my book and started working, but that feeling didn’t go away, i was definitely being watched. Mr Isaac’s voice echoed in the classroom. “Winston Smith is the protagonist of which George Orwell novel?” I raised my hand. “Yes Miss Jenkins” “1984” “Very, very good Miss Jenkins, that is correct can you tell me what genre of book does Danielle Steel primarily write?” “Romance” “Excellent! What do George Eliot, George Sand and Acton Bell all have in common?”

Ivana cocked her head to the side. "Remember I promised to fess up everything, I think it's time, Ivana, I know it's hard to believe what I'm going to say but please be patient, I'll explain everything to you. The truth is this world is the world I created, in short, we're inside my novel," She confessed. A burst of laughter tore the silence in the room, "Nice one," Ivana laughed out aloud. "I know it's hard to believe but it's true," Arielle let out a nervous laugh.

Switching the hand holding the lid, she felt along the spines, divining by the width and the feel of the binding which one she wanted. She set the book on the floor beside her as she eased her head out from the trunk then closed it carefully. Getting her feet beneath her, she reached for her book, then gave a terrified scream seeing a man’s shoes standing just beyond it. Scrambling to her feet, Evelyn crashed against the wall of the baggage car. “Well, I do sthay, what have we here?” Daniel Prince’s tawny eyes skimmed her slowly and he shuffled another step closer, kicking her book aside.

I've barely been able to put this story down. I absolutely love it. I love how descriptive the story is. And it has made me want to have been able to go to that World's Fair. It is a beautiful love story and I can't wait to finish it.

I am only to Chapter 22, but this book is Amazing so far and by far my favorite. I love historical fiction and this piece is a gem. I read the Author's book about Grace and Juliet and just had to jump right into this one as some characters are the same.

Bitter Marriage: The Missing Gleam in Their Eyes

Bitter Marriage: The Missing Gleam in Their Eyes

She arrived at the part where the main character in the story failed from an imminent wedding ceremony, which only needed to say the wedding vows and was crushed by an unexpected reality. So that's a secret that is the answer to all the mysteries implied from the beginning of the novel. This is the surprise Diana told her to anticipate. Kat placed the novel in her lap and smiled faintly, suddenly feeling awe at the novel in her hands. This is an eighteenth century novel, but the story is truly extraordinary. Suddenly her cell phone rang. Kat glanced over and frowned. There was Adrian's name flashing there, complete with a photo of the two of them, embracing each other for the camera in a lau

A GIRL NAMED NOVA.

A GIRL NAMED NOVA.

“No, Nova. It’s not enough until you understand where you belong. Stay out of my way — and stay away from him. Because the next time you don’t, I won’t stop at words.” Then, with a smirk, she shoved one of my books off my arm and sauntered away, her friends laughing behind her. The hallway was silent for a moment. All eyes were on me — some curious, some pitying, others quietly impressed that I didn’t break down. I bent to pick up my book again, but my fingers shook too much to hold it properly. As I stood there, breath shallow, my phone buzzed in my pocket. A message from Frederick. “ I’m outside. Come to the car”.

THE REWRITE: Transmigrating Into Another World

Just as it dared you to understand him, it revealed the commoner’s ultimate betrayal, transforming her into the story's true villainess. Mars was lost. The world outside the library’s single window dimmed from afternoon gold to deep twilight, then to the velvety black of true night. He only snapped out of it when he turned the final page, his body protesting with a chorus of aches. He blinked, his eyes stinging and watery, and groaned as he stood, his legs prickling with the agony of restored circulation. His phone screen glowed in the dark: past midnight. He had read for over ten hours, devouring a thousand pages without a single break. He stared at the strange novel with a mixture of awe a

George Orwell penned '1984', and honestly, that novel still gives me chills whenever I revisit it. The way he crafted such a bleak, oppressive world feels eerily relevant even today—like he had a crystal ball into modern surveillance culture. I first read it in high school for a dystopian literature unit, and it completely rewired how I view authority and propaganda. The man was a genius at exposing societal mechanisms through fiction.

What’s wild is how Orwell’s own life influenced the book. His experiences in the Spanish Civil War and disdain for totalitarianism bled into every page. If you dig deeper, you’ll find parallels between '1984' and his other works like 'Animal Farm', both dripping with political satire. It’s no wonder his name became shorthand for warning against government overreach.
