This is my very first completed novel, and I honestly don't know how to explain what this journey has been like. Before writing this book, I worked as a ghostwriter. My job was simple in comparison. I was given outlines, chapter breakdowns, character directions, and all I had to do was bring someone else's vision to life. It wasn't easy, but there was always a map.

Genuinely. This is my first book. My first story. My first time putting something out there that came from my head and my heart, and honestly? That's terrifying. It's like showing someone your diary, except you've decorated it with dragons and heartbreak and inside jokes that only make sense to you. There are going to be typos. There are going to be plot holes big enough to drive a truck through. There might be sentences that make zero sense on the first read, and characters who change personalities mid-chapter because I hadn't figured them out yet. And you know what? That's okay. She opened the first page, trying to immerse herself in a story that might help her forget her nightmares, even if only for a while. "Love can come in the most unexpected places," read the opening line of the novel. Jasmine gave a wry smile. For her, love had always been something complicated and full of conflict. She read slowly, allowing herself to be carried away by the beautifully written story. The words on those pages began to divert her attention from the anxiety she felt. The story of a young woman finding love in a small village in Italy started to seep into her mind. Although it wasn't her favorite type of reading, there was something soothing in the way the story unfolded.

She flipped through the pages, past the short poems, the little love scenes, and the silly dialogues she had written just for fun. Then she stopped at page forty. Her stomach dropped. That was where the first real erotic story started. She stared at the words. Her face burned. It was something she wrote late one night, out of boredom… or curiosity. She never meant for anyone to see it.
