When I heard the news, Nathan came out of the studio, wrapped his arms around me from behind, and rested his chin lightly on my shoulder.
"Let's go somewhere," he murmured warmly.
The next day, his private jet carried us over continents and into the heart of the Alps.
A sleigh glided across thick snow, carrying us to the mountaintop. There, perched on a cliff, stood a solitary cabin.
Its roof was a glass dome, merging seamlessly with the vast, star-filled sky.
"This," Nathan told me softly, "I built with my own hands."
He pulled out a deep blue velvet box.
