I Left, And They Declared War

I Left, And They Declared War

Juliet Somehow, I was back at the cafe, facing Grace's piercing gaze. After I struggled to hold back from crying, which I had been doing a lot these days, Grace managed to convince me to go back to the cafe with her. “So… how about Naomi and Leah?” I asked, not just because I was trying to shift the conversation from me, but because I was curious about the women I used to call my friends. “Leah left the country to manage her mother's farm a year after graduation”, Grace answered.

The Return of the War Legate

Chester reprimanded. Adnan's expression darkened further. He and Chester were classmates at the military academy, both equally outstanding during their student days. However, once they entered the military, Chester's luck and strategic abilities surpassed Adnan's. In just 20 years, Chester had ascended from a common soldier to commander, while Adnan remained a captain. When Chester mentioned their connection, Adnan didn't feel pride. Instead, he felt deeply ashamed. "He's the one who captured Leafall," Chester added.

Shadows Of The Heart

A fourth seat sat empty beside them. “Speak of Vanadine,” Adnanter commanded. Horann crossed the room slowly and prostrated herself before them, feeling their hate and loathing for her existence crawl over her skin. Adnanter stood six feet tall, slender and willowy, his face was a mask of evil that left nothing to the imagination. Here was a creature without compassion, without mercy of any kind, an elf who would use any tactics, employ any type of violence or coercion to attain his goals. He wore black leather made from the skins of the dark Elves’ enemies in Elaris, a race called the Entrellies, to show his power and disdain for the race.

Seeing that Leora didn't leave, "Are you tired of living? Want to be a statue?" asked Adnan in an unfriendly tone. Leora was surprised, looked up at Adnan. Spontaneously shook his head slowly. "Then quickly clean that up and get out of here!" Adnan suddenly drank back the half of the chocolate milk that was left. Leora stuttered to herself, then immediately went out to the kitchen to get a rag to clean up the broken glass. Leaving Adnan, who was holding back his emotions for a while, his name is a temperament person who must have been wrong, his emotions evaporated a little.

Caught between the unhinged Jasmine and the intimidating White family, everyone's eyes were on Derick, waiting for him to tell the truth. Derick was ghost-white, sweat trickling down his forehead. He looked around in a frenzy until his eyes met mine. I was cradling the baby. He pointed straight at me and yelled, "I'm clueless here. It's all Lily's fault! "Lily didn't want her son Ayden, born with a heart defect, to inherit the mafia's throne. I was backed into a corner and agreed to help her swap the babies!

Aminu led them into the house, past the living room where Halima was watching a Nigerian movie with terrible quality. The study was much like his father's, except the curtains were thrown open and there were more fictional novels than there weren't. Adnan spied a collection of Danielle Steel's, smiling at the image of Afrah which popped into his head. There was no doubt whose books they were. "Please, sit," Aminu gestured to the seat in front of him. Adnan sank into the chair quietly, watching as his uncle hastily walked around and sat in his own chair. He hummed to himself as he pulled open the drawer and passed a piece of gum to Adnan.

One Night with a Lycan: A Big Girl’s Transformation

One Night with a Lycan: A Big Girl’s Transformation

Nolan continued, “I guess Yena is more forgiving than I am. She wanted me to bring you some reading material. Guess she must have been concerned you would be bored in here.” He opened his jacket and pulled a small book out of the interior pocket. The gap at the bottom of the silver bars was just wide enough for the book to fit underneath. Nolan crouched and shoved it under, sending the book sliding straight across the slick, well-worn, centuries-old stone floor. Adan stopped the book under his foot. He stared down at it. But he did not bend to pick it up. It was the book he had written many years ago, back when he lived in the human world. The book he had given to Yena when they first met, w

I have really enjoyed this book as a whole… so far. I’m about 70% of the way into the story and find myself mostly happy with the book. I’m just wondering, why does the Prince have such a hang up about weight? It just seams a bit passive aggressive on the negative comments, and name calling.

I fell into 'Azad Penaber' expecting a straight political tale and came away with a layered family saga that kept tugging at me long after the last page. The novel follows Azad, a man who has been living in exile for years, returning to the mountainous homeland he fled. At first the story reads like a reconstruction: Azad wanders through his old village, reconnects with distant relatives, and tries to reclaim the small, mundane pieces of a life displacement stole from him. But what surprised me is how the book alternates between present-day return and sharp, personal flashbacks—childhood games, first loves, the slow rot of suspicion among neighbors—so that every ordinary scene feels loaded with history.

The central conflict isn't a single villain but a matrix of memory, silence, and unsaid compromises. Azad discovers a hidden folder of letters and a tattered diary that reveal a love affair and choices that risked other people's safety; as he reads, his image of himself fractures. Parallel to that, younger characters—relatives, a teenager who idolizes him, a woman who once loved him—act as mirrors showing new generations' hunger for truth. The tension climbs toward a public unveiling at a village festival, where private betrayals bleed into communal consequences.

What I loved most was how the prose treats landscape as character: the mountains remember, the river keeps secrets, and simple meals become rites of reconciliation. The ending is bittersweet rather than triumphant—Azad can't fix everything, but he takes the first honest step. It felt true, messy, and somehow full of small mercies; the kind of book that sits on your chest for a while afterward.
