Bent Against The Counter Of His Desk

Bent Against The Counter Of His Desk

Chapter 45 *Scarlett's POV* As I settled into the new city, it was a whirlwind of emotions and adjustments. I immersed myself in the project, finding solace in the fulfillment it brought. Yet, moments of longing for Alexander crept in, reminding me of the challenges that lay ahead. The unfamiliar streets and bustling crowds seemed to accentuate the absence of Alexander's familiar presence. The nights were especially difficult, as the silence echoed with memories of shared laughter and whispered conversations.

Impregnated By Two Billionaires

Impregnated By Two Billionaires

In the eyes of everyone, Scarlet is a whore who has lost her womb to so many abortions just like Sally claimed she had. If he attempts to save a woman like Scarlet just like Sally is painting her to be a slut; awful news will fly out tomorrow morning about him. Fuck, it was all too much for Scarlet to take in right now as she tried to run away, but her feet were glued to the spot. Shame. Humiliation. “Enough of your lies, young lady!” A voice so manly and strong boomed, and all eyes turned to the man who had just walked in. Nicolas.

Resurrected (Book #9 in the Vampire Journals)

There’d be a lot of questioning—and she didn’t have any answers. Scarlet finally reached the end of what felt like the longest hall in the school, came to the last door, and grabbed the knob. She braced herself and took a deep breath, clutching her books in one hand, and opened it. “The algorithm for a triangle that does not exceed—”

Marked

Marked

Greeting them at the top of the staircase was yet another exhibit, this one devoted to Elizabeth Paine. I read aloud: “Hester Prynn, Hawthorne’s most famous character, the woman at the center of The Scarlet Letter, the woman who was persecuted for refusing to reveal the true identity of her child’s father, was, many scholars say, based on a real-life Salem resident: Elizabeth Paine. No scholar has ever been able to identify the lineage of Elizabeth’s child, as she refused to reveal to any of the townsfolk who the father really was. Legend has it that he was a mysterious man, come over on a ship from Europe, and that their romance was a forbidden one.

THE BLOOD CURSE MARK

THE BLOOD CURSE MARK

When Chris left my office I opened the hidden safe and took out a portrait of Scarlet. it has been so long since I got someone to renew the colours that it was starting to fade again. looking at it that girl came in mind, she resembled Scarlet so much that it was almost scary. The smile as she looked at me. the only difference between them was the innocence in her eyes. the Scarlet I knew lived a rough life and she had this fire in her eyes because of that. she was a strong and resilient woman; some would even call her rebellious because she didn’t want to follow all the norms of her family.

The Scarred Mate He Never Loved

The Scarred Mate He Never Loved

Marvin I flipped through several pages, my curiosity and confusion pushing me to search for something that might make sense of everything. The memory from the previous day suddenly returned to me. After Beta Raymond had left, I had picked up this very book from the desk because he had forgotten to place it back on the shelves. My fingers moved faster now as I turned the pages until I reached the particular section near the middle of the enormous book he had left behind. There it was, the same scar that met my eyes. My eyes widened as I stared right back at the replica of the scar on Becky's stomach.

The Reluctant Alpha and His Sassy Queen

The paper curled the moment it kissed the flame. Scarlet didn’t hesitate. She pressed the notebook harder into the candlelight, watching as the edges blackened, the ink blistering and fading into nothing. The words she’d bled onto those pages...plans, filth, fear, secrets...warped and vanished in a hiss. Ronan was still struggling with his shirt, fabric caught over his head like a damn blindfold. She tossed the burning book into the fireplace. And screamed.

he murmured. “Cut it out. There’s nothing so ‘chessy’ about the mafia. It’s just a usual game,” she replied with a faint smirk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scarlet took a deep breath before stepping into the room to face Cassius. Her chest rose and fell steadily, as if steeling herself for war like a soldier preparing to confront a former predator. She hesitated at the doorway, her eyes scanning the dim hallway before crossing the threshold into a secluded place.

I usually don’t read mafia type stories but I thought I’d give this a go since I love the writers fantasy books. This book has a very interesting twist on the Cinderella story. It’s intriguing and it leaves you wanting more! Can’t wait to see how it plays out!
