Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams

Since I met her, every slight movement, every stare, every man who looks at her too long triggers something ancient in me something that shifts under my skin like a creature stretching after sleep. And Alina Miroshnikova… She is the only thing that stirs it into something sharper than instinct. Not softness, Not warmth, Not love but Something worse. A fixation? Or a compulsion. A need threaded through every violent impulse I’ve ever had. If they wanted a diagnosis, they should have written this in their little files: “Subject presents with obsessive, possessive ideation toward a specific individual, accompanied by heightened aggression response and impaired inhibitory control. Risk of extrem

Mafia's Art of Love

Mafia's Art of Love

He was such a complex man. "What do you think obsession is?" he asked, locking his stormy eyes onto mine. I was caught off guard by his question. "Obsession?" "Yes," he replied immediately. No hesitation. No smile. "Well, I think it's uh..." I chewed my bottom lip. "An unhealthy fixation. Like the... the strong influence. A compulsion. The desire to have full possession of something or someone," I explained, carefully selecting my words. "It can also be linked to mental illness."

Soul Shard Captor [BL]

What had left him with a lasting impression he would be unable to forget were the gazes of several individuals identified as threats of the highest order. The gazes that even now he could remember all too clearly. The gazes that spoke of one thing - the same thing he now found within Levi’s gaze, the same thing that evoked a feeling of profound dread in Trey - Obsession. An overpowering, reckless, fanatical fixation that knew no bounds nor reason. A reckless infatuation from a maniac that would stop at nothing to realize their own obsession, rendering everything and everyone, including themselves, expendable. That focused gaze could only see one thing and one thing alone - the only thing tha

The Beast's Other Half

The Beast's Other Half

I want to see him and have him hug me, but my pride is telling me to stay away. I shake my head a little to push back my thoughts about my mate. Anytime I even think of his name I begin to obsess about him. Where is he? What is he doing? Is he okay? It's baffling me. I have never felt this possessive or obsessive over someone. Nathan was my best friend and lover, but I could go hours without wondering what he was up to.

WILD ADDICTION

WILD ADDICTION

“Sorry. Carry on.” I sighed again. “Yes, the guy I went on a date with. We’ve spent a lot of time together over the last month and now…he wants more. I want more, but hell, I’m afraid. I don’t want to repeat what happened before. I can already feel it. I’m already more than a little obsessed with him.” “Sometimes love and obsession are one and the same. Sometimes you can’t tell them apart because they’re no different. Love is thinking of someone every day, wanting to be with them all the time, needing to know everything about them. Just like an obsession is.”

My Obsession

My Obsession

“Why the fidgeting?” He rubs at his jawline. “I have an attention issue and get distracted. A bird that flies by the window, someone coughing, you—especially you. Doesn’t mean I’m not smart. It just takes me a while to take it all in.” He taps one of the pens on his desk. Especially you. “ADD?” I’ve read enough to know a little about it. “Technically, ADHD, but I don’t jive with putting a label on it.”

Fellicia asked but didn't get an answer. "I just hope he is okay because I don't want anything to happen to him yet. He hasn't gone inside of me yet and my body is really in need of his amazing touch. His touch makes me go crazy. I don't know why his touch is so special. All the nen that has touched me so far, there was nothing special about them. Oh! My one and only boss! I just love him and wish he will notice me.." she caressed her body with her hands as she demonstrated her feelings.

Hazel clutched the file in her hand staring at the psychiatrist with nervousness. “You were the first woman he met who didn’t want anything from him. Your slightest care and affection is something that comes out without wanting anything in return. In starting it was an Obsession but now it’s an Obsession with separation anxiety. That’s why I will advise you something.” She nodded her head.

This is a very dark novel. It's probably the darkest I have ever read. The author warns us, & yes, there are triggers. I am 50% through this book, and it is well written. Has some grammar errors, but the story itself keeps you interested, & it's unique. If you want a dark Mafia book, then read this.

“It's not that I don't... really.” He leaned forward. “You are not listening. You should know that I love you too much. It’s not good. It's the same reason why my ex-wife left. I have obsessive behaviors, Julia,” he said in a low, tight voice. “I can be very possessive and controlling, but none of this was my choice. It’s how I do things. You are not ready for someone like me. You still need more time to know me. I know I am asking too much from you, but this is my way to make this work.”

Emotionless Attachment

She’ll surely be gone mental if she continues to act obsess over Kalex the grouch. “Move yourself, tch.” I harshly let go of her grip because her touch making me sick. I do not want to be infected with her disease called “obsession”. Just basing on how she gets obsess just now, I presume she end up dating her boss after her confession. That’s totally a disgust. “Gwyn? What are you doing here?” I gritted my teeth when I heard a familiar voice. I glanced over my shoulder and took off the shade I was wearing. “Don’t worry, I have no business at you,” I glared at Kalex and then started to walk away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Obsessive attachment often starts with an emotional void on one side, which creates a distorted dependency that feels like love but operates like possession. In stories like 'You' or certain dark romance novels, the obsessed character believes their fixation is a form of profound devotion, which directly clashes with the other person's need for autonomy and safety. The real emotional conflict isn't just about stalking or control; it's the terrifyingly sincere belief from the obsessed party that they are the only one who truly understands and deserves the object of their affection. This creates a horrific intimacy where genuine care and sinister entitlement are permanently entangled.

For the recipient, the conflict is a brutal erosion of self. Initially, it might be flattering or feel like intense passion, but it gradually becomes a cage. The tension comes from the internal battle: recognizing the manipulation and danger, yet sometimes being seduced by the sheer intensity of the attention or the moments where the obsession mimics real love. In 'Wuthering Heights,' Heathcliff's obsessive love for Catherine destroys them and everyone around them because it's a force of nature that refuses any boundary. It's not a romance; it's a study in emotional annihilation where the conflict is between a consuming identity and the separate self.

I find the most unsettling conflicts arise in stories where the obsession is mutual but unhealthy, like in 'Gone Girl' or 'Endless Love.' It's not a clear predator-prey dynamic; it's a co-created hell where both parties are addicted to the dramatic, all-consuming nature of the bond. The conflict then becomes about whether they can escape the toxic symbiosis or if they'll choose to burn together, mistaking destruction for destiny. The lingering question for the reader is always: where is the line between passionate love and pathological obsession, and why is that line so dangerously easy to cross in these narratives?
