The heroine had fallen for her captor in a slow, inevitable spiral that the author framed as destiny. It had felt like a fairytale version of the nightmare I was currently living. Clean. Romantic. Resolved by the final chapter with declarations and soft lighting. Reality did not work like that.

Moreover, the beginning chapters are longer to keep you hooked and to let you decide easily. • Insights: 1) This is a mafia, billionaire romance. But definitely the author is not playing with cliche of abducting and falling in love with the kidnapper. 2) There is no Stockholm syndrome or rape at all, personally I don't like writing it. The female protagonist won't be forced to do anything.

Even so she was taking more than that. On top of that, my wolf caused havoc within me. He didn't appreciate me returning Kathrine's desires. He regarded her as a horny teenager who read lots of books and ensnared in fantasies she weaved over the time. For him, whatever was happening between us was the outcome of Stockholm Syndrome.
