"Daughter? Husband? You swore you'd never marry anyone but me. You're just mad, saying this to get back at me, right?"
I stared, unyielding.
The rims of his eyes reddened. He was filled with pain and confusion.
I was surprised. Even when his mom passed away, he wasn't so broken.
"How could you break our promise? How could you be so cruel to me?" he asked, reproachful.
I sighed, "Are you blaming me? But you betrayed me first."
He froze, his lips trembling. "Nothing was going on between me and Olive."
I cut him off with a sneer. "Betrayal isn't just physical. The moment your heart wavered, we were done."
