I was directed to the shelf that contained books on mystical beings. I picked the first book I could lay my hands on and opened it to the chapter where vampires were discussed. "I guess you love fairy tales," I turned to see a young man, dressed in a black suit. His hands were in his pocket as he was grinning widely at me. I cocked my eyebrow. "Vampires aren't necessarily classified as fairy tales" I corrected him. "You could say so. I mean they're different, strange, and strong. They ain't human"

Where was the error in her behavior? She was seething with annoyance as she pulled her favorite grimoire down from the shelf and flipped through the pages. Her anger grew as each spell she cast did not offer the knowledge she required. She noticed a page at the back of the book that was all about vampires and the lore around them. There was a remark put in the margin in a spidery hand that stated there were no known spells that could be used to track down vampires because they were, for all intents and purposes, dead, and one could only do ritual magic on the living. This notation explained that this was because one could only perform ritual magic on the living.

Then, the night was filled with darkness, home to the creatures of the night. I had heard the phrase creatures of the night refer to animals like wolves, owls, bats, and so on, but also to vampires. I frowned and opened the book on the history of vampires, but when I opened it, I couldn’t read it. The script wasn’t of any language I had ever seen. The pages were much older than the book on the Moon Goddess. I turned it over to look at the back cover. There was no bar code there. There wasn’t one on the front cover, either.

ADAM Restless. That's what I'd been all evening. The moon hung somewhere behind the clouds, its faint light slipping through my office window and glinting off the pile of books scattered across my desk. Some were ancient, their spines cracked, pages yellowed with age. Others were newer, filled with recent research from scholars who barely understood what they were writing about. I move to place the heavy book on top of it’s witchy companion and my fingers tingle as they brush something on the back. “What have we here?” yes, I talk to myself on occasion.

As she finished the book she reached her home. She put the book on top of the table and went inside the secret room inside the basement. She sits and looks around. The room is already full of medicines but Waylan couldn't stop inventing and researching for medicines that could turn vampires into humans. She already made medicine that can help vampires walk while the sun is shining, medicines for them not to crave for blood, etc. She suddenly sighed. "All this medicine is useless without any vampire around," she murmured while closing her eyes and falling into sleep.
