“You need someone for the night and you’re paying well.” “That’s right,” he said. “But first we talk about the contract, it’s simple. It's a one night stand, you do what I say in my playroom, no questions. After it’s over you get fifty thousand dollars. But it’s physical only, no feelings or calls after. You leave in the morning.” I swallowed hard. “Fifty thousand is a lot. It would fix everything.” “Okay,” I said. “What exactly do I have to do?”

"Then you come respectfully. Or you don't come at all." He nodded frantically, scrambling onto his knees. Good. Cathan advanced, placing a neatly printed contract on the bar. "The conditions are simple," he remarked, his voice unruffled. "You only sell to us. No secondhand deals and no fucking leaks. You default, and you disappear. Poof. Understood?" “Yes, I do.” The man swiped blood from his mouth, quivering as his hand trembled. Quickly, he signed off the document. As he scratched out his name, I backed away, getting a glance at a waiter with blond hair walking by.

Cade insisted. “Okay. If it happened only once and you had no prior relationship, and, like you said, she declined to date you after, then I think there was no actual relationship. What happened was just a one-night stand, no strings attached. And if that’s not against RTA’s rules, then you didn’t break any.” Noah looked at his executive assistant, amused. “There you go!” Cade said as he stood. “Case closed.” Noah shook his head. “We need to revise the rules.”

Nothing will happen without your consent.”

There was no way I could explain a literal mini version of myself seated next to me. I took one look at Leona and asked if she was hungry. She bobbed her head up and down to show she could certainly use something to eat. I went to the vending machine to grab us some snacks, and as I waited for our drinks to fall out, Leona asked, “What's a one-night stand?” The two young interns who were seated with us in the lounge perked up. My jaw quite literally dropped to the ground. “Did I say something bad? Why is everyone staring at me weird?” she asked, her big eyes scanning the faces in the room.

It totally is!” she exclaims “No it’s not” I lie trying to calm her down I could see the disappointment on her face “Well there’s not much to tell. He was a one night stand and I never have to see him again.” I say trying to sound convincing which was sounding as convincing as it should in my ears. “Fine so what did you want to talk about?” she says reluctantly dropping the topic.
