When she moved, the dress shimmered like it was covered in hundreds of dew drops. It was time to go. Niamh left her room and descended the staircase. There at the bottom, stood Lorcan. He looked every inch an Elven king, His raven-black hair was loose and smooth, contrasting dramatically with the forest-green robe he was wearing. Golden thread bordered the cuffs and neck of the floor-length robe. On his head sat a crown of twisted branches. Never had an elflord looked more noble, more kingly, than Locarn did at that moment.

His bright eyes stared sharply at me behind his thick-rimmed glasses, as he sat cross-legged in his expensive leather seat. I looked to the seat before him. And the sight that greeted me was unsurprising. Roxanne was there already. Perched on the edge of the chair like a queen in her throne, her back was straight, as one of her ankles crossed over the other. She looked at me with her signature smug smirk, with a malicious glint in her eyes. Her red lip gloss catches the light like a blade behind her white teeth. Then a photo popped up. A close-up of a study. Dim lighting. A mahogany desk. A glass of dark red liquid. And right in the center, an open ancient parchment book. My fingers froze over the keyboard. My smile died. The blood drained from my face, leaving my limbs freezing cold. Stamped on the cover of that book was a dark gold crest. A snake eating its own tail, with a bleeding ruby for an eye. The Ouroboros crest of the Valerius vampire clan.

They aren’t exactly extinct but they go out of their way to keep to themselves. “Here, this is the pack. Harvest Moon,” River says, bringing a large book to my table. I push to my feet and carefully brush away some dust on the cover as I take in the crest. It’s a reddish rust colored moon, with three wolves howling around it. One, matches the color of the moon.

The book lay open between them, the aged pages worn and delicate, the ink faded but still legible. The illustration stared back at them—two wolves beneath an eclipsed moon, one black, one white. Tangled together. Bound. Selene traced the image with her fingertips, her pulse thrumming in her ears. “The Wolves of the Eclipse,” she murmured, repeating the words as if saying them aloud would somehow bring more clarity. Theoden leaned in beside her, his piercing blue eyes fixed on the text. “What does it say?”

“Calm down Celene, the book..it's not going anywhere.” I didn't bother answering him, he couldn't possibly understand what was at stake, I would finally understand what had happened to my people, why my mother had made the decision she had…I could finally understand my true nature…everything. The book looked unassuming tightly wrapped with a dark red clothed cover, embossed on it, a wolf painted silver, excitedly I slowly unwrapped its cover. The rhythmic pounding of my heart is a testament to my eagerness to learn. Yellowed pages delicately sewn in come into view, My eyes turn to meet Alex in a glance as he leans closer, his eyes a mix of curiosity and amusement.

The book’s title: “Book of The Blight.” Carefully, he sets his wolf helm down on a clean spot among the forest. The plate head sparks with pink electricity, causing the headpiece to slightly hover along with the grassy blade tips. Va

The rogues have been attacking Onyx Moon for years, but their attacks increased as more and more rogues joined my plot to overthrow Colin. They attack Onyx Moon to keep their wolves at bay until I say otherwise. I’m going to invade Onyx Moon after I take the Alpha throne. The fewer wolves there, the better it is for me. He hears me coming from behind. He growls but relaxes when he realizes who I am.
