"If the Bank falls," the Steward screamed over the roar of the wind, "then the Insurance Policy is triggered!"
He smashed the vial against the ground.
A thick, grey fog began to pour out of the glass. It didn't smell like ozone or fire. It smelled like Nothing. Wherever the fog touched, the world simply... stopped. The birds froze in mid air. The waves on the Atlantic stood still. The manor turned into a grey, motionless statue.
"The Grey Out," Vane whispered, his voice failing as the fog reached his boots. "They’re pausing the world, Elara. They’re going to delete the sector."
