Cast Out to Freedom
It was Damian, worry etched on his face.
"It's over. It wasn't your fault." He knelt before me, comforting me.
I lowered my head, tears welling in my eyes. Why did those three madmen have to come and ruin everything when I was at peace? Why must things end like this?!
"Oh, little cub… If you want to cry, just let it all out," Damian sighed, gently brushing away my tears with his thumb.
It was strange.
I didn't cry when I was thrown to the Beasts, but upon hearing Damian's kind voice, all the pain and fear within me finally burst out.
