A Dark Curse
“Both the curse and the pack. They defied me today and I’ll be sure someone pays for it.”
With a terse nod, he starts back home, shifting halfway through the tree line. As I watch his retreating figure, a sense of foreboding settles over me like a shroud, the weight of his words echoing in my mind.
I turn to leave, but before I can take a single step, I sense a presence behind me. Slowly, I turn to find Elora standing just inside of the doorway, eyes gleaming with an unsettling light.
"You should tread very carefully, Dominic," she warns, her voice dripping with unconstrained glee. "Some games have stakes higher than you realize."
