Paige's friend's face changes. "They're sleeping in Paige's room." I stride through the apartment, until I push open her door and see the two of them tangled in a sheet and asleep. I close the door behind me and take off my shoes, it seems Paige has left the perfect spot next to her on the bed for me to lie down with them. The mattress sinks, and Owen sinks deeper between Paige's breasts. She stirs, her leg touches mine, and she furrows her brow more until she nudges me with her foot clad in a sock. Her light eyes open, they seem blind as they look at me, and she swats at me with her hand almost letting out a scream.

Paige slowly opened her eyes, her clarity returning. “Get away from me! Someone like you—low-born and worthless—how could anyone possibly love you? Why aren’t you dead? Where’s Mr. Elsher? Kyley's heart began to pound in her head at the thought of being taken back to the Moonblood pack. " Tsk! You really think you could escape the Moonblood pack after betraying us huh?" Paige said with a click of her tongue. She was annoyed that Kyley was here living and enjoying such an excluded and isolated life out here while she had to go through all of those sleepless nights in the woods searching about for her. " It's time to take you back and make you pay!" Paige said, snaring her sharp teeth and bearing her nails that instantly became sharp and long as she slowly walked towards Kyley who took steps back into the kitchen.

Paige mocked while holding a bucket of water, as if it would have been her move if I hadn’t woken up on time. Nicholas finally stepped in, a smug smile on his face as our eyes locked. “It’s been a while, baby girl.” Ignoring their nonsense pleasantries, I went straight with my questions: “Now that you have brought me here, what exactly is your plan?” Aside from the strong sense of shame that I was feeling, I just couldn’t bring myself to confront Paige. I mean, what was I expecting? “So you are not going to yell in my face how much of a loser I am for deceiving you?” Paige’s attempt to strike up a conversation was just as pathetic as her looks.
