Nick pov Patrick and I watch Lena cry into her pillow as we talk with Tyler. She burst into tears after our happy bubble burst at the news, and I was pissed. "She claims it is Patrick's pup. There was an unpleasant dryness in Patrick's mouth, but he said with a good attempt at nonchalance, "of course. I shan't aim to kill him, however" "No, don't", agreed Mr Fritzwa. "Not that I think he means to make it a killing matter either. I can't see why he should. He'd have to make a bolt for it if he did, and I fancy that wouldn't suit him. What are you doing today?" Surprisingly, aside from his supposed wife-to-be, he wanted to meet with the others he mentioned. Which was so not like him, he always hated the meetings and only met with those people because he had to for things to be done. Maybe because he had a good night's rest and he wasn’t hungover for once, he couldn’t help the smile that formed.

He shied away from my gaze. “Of course.” The System started shrieking in my mind. “Aahh! Did you see that’ He’s shy. Hurry up and tell him that you want nothing more than to spend a day with him. You can go to the amusement park. Think about the fireworks! His love meter is going to go up like crazy.”

Patrick woke up on the couch, where he passed out while watching Frosty The Snowman with Arianna. He looked to his right and realized his partner-in-crime was missing. “Arianna?” Patrick left the couch and climbed the winding staircase. “I really need to downsize to a one-story because this shit ain’t it,” Patrick spat once he reached the second level. “Arianna?” he called out, knocking on her bedroom door. Patrick planned on making them breakfast, taking Arianna to her apartment to get herself together, and taking her to his parents’ house for Christmas. He had previously invited Pierce, but Pierce was adamant he wanted to be alone.

As soon as the documents were in the lawyer’s hands, she would unblock Augusto’s number just to inform him and ask him to show up to sign. For a brief moment, she imagined what it would be like to see him again. Her heart tightened slightly just thinking about it, but she shook her head, trying to push away the whirlwind of emotions.
