“James is waiting for you at the northern perimeter.”
“How many wolves did patrol spot?” I demand, my voice tight with impatience.
“None yet, Alpha,” Marco replies, looking slightly confused. “But the tracks are fresh. Less than an hour old.”
I nod curtly and shift into drive, heading toward the northern edge of our territory. The car bounces over the rough access road, trees pressing close on either side. My wolf paces beneath my skin, restless.
