Dal left the room. Cyrus gazed out the window—having had his back to it until now—and let out a long sigh. He had long suspected this would happen. His cousin had coveted the throne for ages, believing it was his birthright. The Lykort Pack was one of the oldest in the world, renowned since ancient times for harboring the Lycan monster. A pack possessing the Lycan monster became the strongest, automatically ascending to the status of the ruling monarchy. The pack leader was an Alpha, if that Alpha also harbored the Lycan monster within, he would automatically become the King of Werewolves—the Alpha of Alphas. Cyrus and Frederick belonged to the Lycaros family, the ancient lineage that held t

He glanced at Selena, who sat beside him, her eyes wide with anticipation, her chest rising and falling with each breath. Levi's voice quivered as he continued, his words laden with a mixture of reverence and trepidation. "Though now extinct, they were one of the first breeds of werewolves. Which later created the breeds of Lycans." The air crackled with a newfound energy, tinged with both excitement and a hint of fear. The knowledge they were unraveling held the power to reshape their understanding of the world, to rewrite the boundaries of what was possible.

"That's my son's mate and my daughter. I'm well pleased with her. She will become your queen and lead you as I do, she announces. "I, Mia Blake Jones, hereby declare Anne Hill as the queen of the Lycans. I was shocked. I looked at my mate's faces. They were shocked as well. I slowly look at the Lycan king's face. It has nothing to write home about. He looks so surprised and angry. The queen gently took my hand and led me to the front. She removes her crown and places it on my head. "From today, she shall be your queen. You must protect her from evil beings. Loved and sworn your loyalty to your queen," she declares openly.

Alana watches us from her mate Ulric's side, he begins scolding her and I shake my head. "It's ok Ulric, she was only asking, she is just curious not being disrespectful. Yes, my mate Queen Liliana is a lycan, she's also twin sister to Queen Raven of the Bloodwrath Kingdom, and our Goddess of Life. I expect our people to treat her with the utmost respect. My mate King Ryder, is a hybrid, and Alpha of New Moon, he fought for his title and deserves the respect of his kingdom. If I ever hear anyone in my court disrespect or threaten his safety, you will answer to me." I am quick to make sure my advisors understand that my mates aren't to be messed with.

The very stone beneath their feet seemed to tremble beneath the force of it. Aliyah did not move. The Shaman lowered the crown and placed it gently on her head. The weight of it landed softly, but its meaning struck hard. Queen. When the Shaman stepped back, the silence shattered. The voices around her rose louder. A thousand howls joined as one. It was a cry of loyalty, a song of the old ways. Aliyah stood tall beneath it all, the crown gleaming against her dark hair. She was now Queen of the Lycans.

she said, turning to us, “I believe that the queen is a special kind of Lycan.” “What do you mean?” Eros was quick to ask. “According to history, every true Lycan is blessed with a special gift from the moon goddess,” she explained. “And from what I witnessed that day, as well as my investigations, I have cause to believe that the queen is a siphon Lycan.” I blinked, confused. “What is that?” “A Lycan who has the ability to tap into various abilities and use them in their most powerful form.” “A siphon requires an object to wield such power,” Lucius stated, question in his voice.

Kelissa insisted, her eyes showing some onyx shades despite her parents’ surprised looks when Greg mentioned things that were not discussed with any advisor. Greg raised his eyebrows at the heiress’s interruption, and reminded himself that he was going to be there for only another few more minutes at most. The Duke gritted his teeth, and said in a low voice, “If you read the news properly, Kylton, you’d know that she is one of us now. She’s a Lycan. She’s the Lycan Queen.” At that very moment, the door fell off its hinges as it burst open.

“No. I think I’m just getting there.” Her smile widens as she sits down next to me. “I’m sorry I haven’t met you sooner, but I’ve been away for a few weeks on business.” She reaches out her hand. “I’m Fiona. Lance’s mother.” My mouth nearly falls to the ground as I scurry out of my chair and bow to her. “I’m sorry, your majesty. I didn’t recognize you.” She darts out of her chair and gently pats my arms while pushing me back into my chair. “Don’t be sorry, but I don’t know if I should have a reaction for you not recognizing me. I am the Lycan Queen.”

“Is that even possible? Can Vincent dethrone the Lycan King?” Maltida gave a small, almost pitying laugh. “No one can dethrone the Lycan King,” she said, her voice low, almost reverent. “Only Queen Laida.” Marcus stared at her, trying to read the layers in her tone. “Is Agatha really Queen Laida?” he asked quietly, his throat tightening on the words.

"But... what are you?" The question struck harder than I expected. I had no answer. The next day, Celeste summoned an elder from a distant pack, a gnarled old man with milky eyes and a voice like rustling leaves. His name was Elder Brann. He studied me for what felt like hours, his cloudy gaze never wavering. "It is as I feared," he said finally. "The prophecy speaks true." "What prophecy?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "The rise of the Lycan Queen," he replied. "A she-wolf born of royal blood, able to command the wild and tame the warring tribes. She will unite the supernatural under one rule, or see it all fall into ruin."
