Don't Come Home

Don't Come Home

I see an anonymous poll online after Aidan Spencer returns to me and our family. "Does a man feel guiltier to his wife or mistress after cheating?" 99% of the voters chose "mistress". I turn to Aidan. "Do you agree with this?" He puts down his book, a hint of indescribable fatigue in his cool gaze. "I'm already back with you, Lily. What else do you want from me?"

I am not Cinderella

I am not Cinderella

Annie read the contract file, again and again, to see every clause of it so that she doesn't regret anything later. Her eyes widened as she saw a particular clause and she grabbed the file and entered the cabin swiftly. "Smart, isn't it?" Annie asked with a small smile as Sandy turned to her side. "Why don't you add some more conditions in this contract from my side too?" She dared to ask him but Sandy didn't show his surprised look as he just nods to let her proceed. "It stated that I can't leave the job. Why don't you add that you too can't fire me without any reason?" She asked showing that she won't ever leave the job even if she had to go through hell. Sandy smiled realising how fun it would be to play with her. "Anything else?" Sandy asked without breaking his stares toward her. "I don't know why you want me to work under you. But the only thing matters to me is the salary package" she replied with a wide grin making him more curious about the girl in front of him. "Welcome to hell, Cinderella" he spoke handling the appointment letter. "I am not Cinderella" she snapped at him immediately. Why is so hard for him to call her Annie? Shoes can be a cupid to normal Cinderella tales. But here, it's not normal love story neither is she is Cinderella. She looks as innocent as Cinderella. She looks as beautiful as Fairy. Annabel Raven
I'm having a great time with Annie, even though the writing needs a bit of improvement on verbal tenses, the reading just flows, and we get so hooked to the story. I loved her witty personality, and the mystery around her. It's funny to see how "the great" Sandy is falling for her without noticing.

My Holier-Than-Thou Sister and Mother

In my previous life, my younger sister, Amy Lockwood, was sexually assaulted. When I wanted to file a police report, she adamantly refused to let me do so. She even stroked her belly lovingly and said something that blew my mind. "H-He was drunk. He didn't mean to do it. What if his life gets ruined because you reported him to the police? You shouldn't be so heartless!" Later on, Amy poisoned my food and nearly killed me just so she could run off with her assailant. However, my mother kept telling me not to hold it against her. Can Tab Proposal? I'm Out

Can Tab Proposal? I'm Out

On our fifth anniversary, Henry Judd—the guy who once swore he'd propose—rented out an entire mall for Cecilia Cheape's birthday. A diamond the size of a pigeon's egg sparkled on her finger. I'd been dumb enough to think it was meant for me. "Cece, I'm gonna give you a birthday you'll never forget," he announced, loud enough for the whole world to hear. Then he yanked the tab off a soda can and handed it to me. "Lulu, those gaudy things don't suit you. You deserve something unique." He slid the can tab onto my finger—his version of a proposal. Cecilia got the dream birthday. I got a piece of trash and a slap of reality. Later, when he found out I was marrying someone else, he got down on one knee with that same ring and begged me to say yes.

The $2.50 Lunch Service

The $2.50 Lunch Service

After the school cafeteria for elementary school kids shut down, I decided to offer meals for all the kids in our building at my home. At the end of the month, when it came time to settle the bill, one of the neighbors wasn’t happy. “The new caterer downstairs only charges $2.50 per meal, but you’re charging us $5! That’s an extra $75 per kid per month. Do you have no shame?” she accused me. I calmly explained that I only used free-range meat and organic vegetables in my meals. But no matter how patiently I tried to reason with them, the parents insisted I refund the difference and demanded I charge no more than $2.50 per meal moving forward. When I lowered my costs to meet their demands, they started accusing me of mistreating their children. They went online to expose me and even reported me to the authorities. The online attacks were relentless. I was fined, and my husband lost his job because of the controversy surrounding me. The stress pushed me into depression, and in the end, I jumped off a building to end it all. When I opened my eyes again, I saw those same parents being swayed by others in the neighborhood to send their kids to the new daycare service that only charged $2.50 a day. What they didn’t know was that the lunch caterer next door did serve meat every day—but it was frozen, diseased pork that had been sitting in storage for two years.

The Borrowed Womb

The Borrowed Womb

My best friend, Jayde Shepard, and I got pregnant at the same time. She gave me a chubby baby charm, saying she’d had it specially blessed for me to help the baby grow strong. However, just three months in, my belly had already swollen to an unnatural size, like I was about to give birth at any moment. I went through every test at the hospital, but everything came back normal. With no answers left, I turned to the internet. An anonymous user replied: "You’re wearing a cursed charm. She’s using your womb to grow her child. You’ll suffer the pregnancy, but your baby’s fate will be stolen." I thought about how, ever since I got pregnant, she had quietly taken several of my clients. A chill ran through me. That night, I took off the charm and hung it around the neck of the pregnant sow in our yard instead.
