*The palace* Grandma Amelia decided to package the present she bought for her friend, she checked it everywhere but couldn't find it. Bellamy came out of no way with a smirk on her face. "Dearest Leilani, let's see what you will do today." Bellamy exclaimed as she remembered how they took out the necklace out of the queen mother's chamber. Grandma Amelia destroyed almost everywhere but still couldn't find it. "Queen mother, is everything okay?" Bellamy chipped in.

"Your Highness, that's a dragon?!" "Yes. Amelia has somehow managed to tame the Calamity Dragon. She looks cute but she’s very dangerous so be careful with her." Mia stared at Ruby, her grey eyes wide and shining with wonder. "She's so small. I thought dragons were supposed to be enormous and terrifying. She looks like a tiny quokka." “A quokka?” Kealen asked “Uhm… according to the pictures of quokka that I had seen, she looks like a tiny one.”

Every servant in the keep knew that. I motioned for the guard to check it, my hand instinctively going to the dagger at my hip. He stepped past me, pushed the door open wider, and went still. "Princess," he said, his voice tight. "You should see this." I walked over slowly. Someone had left something on the back step, half-hidden in the shadow of the doorframe. It was a small wooden box, the same size and shape as the one I'd carried out of Julian's apartment weeks ago, the one holding my royal seal and identity papers.

Brandon lowered his head, pressing his lips against the warm skin behind Robin’s ear, his voice loud enough to echo in the private box: "The necklace is fifty million, Robin. Amelia’s gaze dragged, and the first thing it landed on was Sharon’s elbow, perched on Hector’s shoulder like she owned him. Like he was a coat rack she’d chosen for the evening. Then her eyes lifted further, and she found Hector’s.

“You’ll see.” Curiosity won out, and I followed him away from the celebration, weaving through laughing villagers until the music faded behind us. We crossed the edge of the square toward a quiet hill overlooking the territory, moonlight painting the grass silver and the wind carrying distant laughter. “It’s beautiful,” I whispered, and Damon answered quietly, “it isn’t finished.” I turned toward him. “What isn’t?” A familiar voice answered before he could. “I believe that is my cue.” Queen Amelia emerged from between the trees as though she had stepped out of the moonlight itself, silver robes shimmering with faint glowing threads.

Amelia had screamed and begged till she could no longer talk and suddenly, she passed out. Passing out, she must have hoped that the old witch would stop but when she regained consciousness, she was being wiped again. The old witch stopped after a long while then grabbed a pot filled with red clay and drew a cross on Amelia's head. She muttered some gibberish and then went on to tell Amelia that she was ready to be sacrificed. Amelia gasped. Sacrificed for what? The old witch answered that the alpha king was sick and needed the fruit of silk but since he could not get it, Amelia would be the alternative.

Amelia POV The party is absolutely beautiful. Mom put a lot of effort into it. Everything is exactly how I always dreamed it would be. My ring is perfection and my men. Well. He is my pillar. The speeches were hilarious. Mike and Gabe did one together and they made me laugh and cry at the same time. “Amelia used to say that she would become a princess one day. She said she would get married to a prince. I’m sorry sis but I think you got the frog” - I laugh while I remember Gabe’s words.

“Seriously, Angeline, this tiny bottle cost more than what my father sends me for a season’s worth of clothes –“ “Mahl won’t flog me,” Angeline interrupts, sure of herself as she leans forward to spread a little gloss over her lips, eager to look pretty for the masque tonight. That’s her job, after all – Queens must look pretty. “Not with the little prince here in my belly,” she continues, leaning back and smoothing her dress down over her stomach, where we really can just start to see her baby bump beginning to show. I smile as I look down at it, excited for my friend.

She wants to be near the Queen always, to touch her, to claim her as hers, but she can’t. She is just but a mere doll, and the Queen belongs to the King, whom she is certain would have her head on a chopping block should he learn how she feels about his Queen, and what they have done.
