It still freaked her out when she thought about it. “Yes. Yet, still I hoped the con was working. This was truly the only play I had open to myself. The Alpha King watched me for a moment, then slowly stepped down from his throne. As he came closer, I felt a familiar tug, like I could trust him. How could that be, though, when the man very nearly had my mate killed?
