The next minute, Zayden’s hands were on her waist, firm but not overbearing, pulling her into the rhythm of the music. Her own arms lifted, almost reluctantly, wrapping around his neck. The proximity made her pulse spike, she couldn’t even remember the last time she’d let anyone hold her like this.
“Astrid,” Zayden said with a sudden softness, leaning close enough for only her to hear. “You have beautiful eyes.”
“It’s Trudy,” she shot back quickly, her voice defensive. “Nobody calls me Astrid. And those lines won’t work on me, you'd have to try harder.”
