Over the comm system, a recognizable, hateful voice cut through the confusion: "Did you really think you could outsmart me... again?" Natalia. As the distant thud of arriving troops increased in volume, her derisive chuckle echoed. Damien said in a piercing, lethal voice, "We end this... now."

He managed to shoot two of them before his arm finally dropped. “John!” I screamed, crawling over to him. His eyes fluttered. “Go… Boss…” he whispered, then closed his eyes. His body went still. Grief and fury slammed into me. I grabbed his gun and dragged his body behind the car. Suddenly, a voice echoed through the smoke and chaos. “Mr. Denver… There’s no way out of this. You’re all alone now.” I stood, straining to locate the voice. “Show yourself!” I shouted, rage flooding me.
