“Percy, wake up! Are you okay?” Her voice trembled with urgency. Percy’s face was ashen, lips pale, but he slowly opened his eyes and reached a bloodied hand toward her. “Stellar… if I die this time, would you… would you forgive me?” “No.” Her answer was firm. “So don’t you dare die. A silhouette lifted a hand weakly. “Rue…” My heart leaped. “Percy?” I ran closer, my eyes adjusting just enough to see him slumped against the wall, surrounded by several stray wolves lying unconscious nearby. His hands… were covered in blood. “Rue,” he breathed, managing a faint smirk. “Took you long enough.” I dropped to my knees beside him, grabbing his wrists. “Is this your blood? I heard the snapping of my bones before I felt it, Perses’ large hand squeezing my body tightly. I can’t believe I allowed myself to be turned against you.” Elena pulled her into a hug. “It wasn’t your fault.” “But I still feel guilty. Please forgive me.” Salvatore nodded slowly. “You are forgiven.”

Lucy shrieked in pain as he hauled her, stumbling, toward the door. A gust of wind blew in. The sun was at its brightest. Before Lucy could react, Augustine threw her into the center of the courtyard. There was no shade, and the sunlight poured down like a thousand white-hot blades. “Augustine! You’re insane!
