Pick A Number Novels & Stories

Naughty! “Um… number 8, pick from the basket” I heard the host say. “Daddy, what the hell are you waiting for? Can't you see that you have the tag number 8? You're the one who should pick from the basket” Zara nudged the Master, and he forced a smile at her. “Must I really participate in this game? I mean, I could just keep watching instead of playing, right?” The Master tried to convince Zara.

"Twelve!" I pleaded silently for the man to come forward, but another man came forward when number thirteen was called. The man, with the look of indifference in his eyes, was still standing in his place with the piece of paper in hand. With the distance between us, I couldn't read the number at all. I closed my eyes, hearing the woman finally say the number I had gotten. "Fourteen." I opened my eyes, frozen in place when my number was finally called. I didn't want to move forward, and neither did the man who was likely to be my partner, so Selena called my number louder again.

The whole place was already filled up, all the pornstars grinning from ear to ear. All the names of people had been written and twisted in tiny ruffled papers and now, when it gets to the person’s turn they pick a name, and secretly check the name of the person they picked. It went on and on until everyone picked the names. Kate picked Aiden. Aiden picked Alex. Alex picked Kate. Lisa picked Alex. Mira picked Lisa. Angela and Joe were lucky as they picked themselves. It was as if fate was working its course.

There is no way out of it and after two years of begging the heavens to be selected, it’s finally happened. Today, my number is up. Literally. And I could not be happier. “Number eleven!” Luna calls out once more, looking around a little annoyed as everyone waits for the selected girl to step forward. My heart races, my happiness almost too much to hide as I step forward and suck in a breath of air and open my mouth to claim what is mine. “Athena!” Alpha Gage says loudly in shock, reaching for her hand and pulling a paper out.

When Daniel heard this, he clasped his hands quickly, "If I can be chosen this time, I am willing to donate ten years of my life." On the stage, Freddie couldn't help but glance at Sophia's side... The number bar on the big screen behind him also scrolled. Freddie recited a few numbers silently in his heart, and suddenly shouted, "Stop!" Four sets of numbers appeared on the big screen instantly. "Congratulations to our number 67 and 01, 02, 03. Hey, there are consecutive numbers this time, let's see who the four lucky viewers are." The host said. The lights of the scene fell on these four positions instantly.

Dino was chuckling in front of me as he stood in an at-ease stance. ‘To make it fair, I have picked a number between one and one hundred. The five people who get the closest to the number will get to go to the festival.’ A bunch of them started to rattle off numbers and I cleared my throat, the link growning quiet. ‘Dino. You first.’ ’27.’ ‘Vince.’ ’2.’ ‘Bennett.’ ’89.’ ‘Sal’ ’Damn I was going to do 1. Um…32.’ ‘Kip.’

A man with a bowl of paint walk past him and turned back to talk to him. "Say brother, which one's Mr Phillips' apartment?" said the man, with a serious look. "Its room 1x , take the next turn to the left" Tom replied with an arm in the pocket of his jacket. "Thanks man" the man replied with a more serious look.

"Well, now you choose how much." Laughing I shrug my shoulders. "Your choice little bird, go crazy." Well, he said go crazy. Moving I push all the chips onto the number 31, and he stares at me shocked. "By go crazy I meant to have fun, not put it all on. Are you crazy?" He looks at me and I laugh nodding. 31 is my birthday and the only number I could think of. I watch as it spins the ball moving. "So, I guess after the ball stops and I lose we should go." I smile at him and he laughs nodding.

Daniel paused for a moment before saying, "Actually, I'm calling to extend an offer. My father admires you for how thorough and persistent you are. I am of the mind that you are indeed a rare talent. "The company just bought over a few new office buildings, and we need a reliable administrator."

I quickly scribbled down a number and held it up for them to see. "Okay, I wrote it down," I said. "I pick five," Mathias declared. "I pick seven," Daxon said confidently. I revealed the number eight, and Daxon's face lit up with a triumphant smile. "I win," Daxon said, his voice filled with glee. Mathias groaned in annoyance but didn't protest further, walking over to sit on a nearby chair. Daxon returned to the bed, his eyes filled with a mixture of lust and tenderness. He leaned
