The Heart Never Forgets
A sharp, metallic click echoed from the doorway behind me, the sound of a hammer being pulled back on a heavy revolver.
I froze, the hair on the back of my neck standing up as a shadow stretched across the marble floor toward me.
"I told you he was a liar, Jane," Pierce’s voice said, sounding perfectly calm and terrifyingly triumphant in the dark. He stepped into the sliver of light, the barrel of his gun aimed directly at the back of my head.
"He’s a Logan. It’s in his blood to betray. Now, end the cycle. End him, or I’ll end you both."
