I froze with even more dread on seeing who it was. Rhys. I’d heard stories of him. The Rogue Alpha. The one who was rumored to rule the borderlands with his own law. He was drop-dead gorgeous as the tales read, almost as much as he was scary. Looked like he emerged right from the front page of a horror story, and he was the hottest villain in the book. “You’re in my boundary,” He spoke flatly, drawing me out of my thoughts. “Give me one reason not to kill you right now.”

“Where is she?” The rogue with the torn ear stepped closer, his fur bristling. “She is with him.” My voice dropped, sharp as a blade. “With who?” The rogue’s lips curled back. “The Shadow Alpha.” Everything inside me went still. “I don’t know that name,” I said, steadying my voice even though my mind raced. “You will,” the rogue rasped. “He waits for you.” I didn’t wait for more. I lunged. The world turned into claws, snarls, ripping fur, broken bones. I tore through the first rogue so fast his body hit the ground before the others even reacted. The second tried to circle me...he didn’t make it more than two steps. The third tried to run.

"Alpha, we have a visual on a transport. Southeast quadrant. Sending the link." Logan hissed a curse and signaled the pilot to dive. In the field, I had given up hope. I stared at the grey sky, hearing the distant, rhythmic thumping of rotors. "I'm going to break you," the rogue whispered, unbuckling his heavy belt to bind my wrists. Before the buckle could click, a shadow fell over us. A hand reached down, grabbed the rogue by the shoulder, and hurled him twenty feet across the field like a rag doll.

They parted to form a corridor, and a familiar figure strolled through, voice dripping with contempt. "How pathetic, dear brother. Didn't I tell you never to come back?" It was Adrian's own brother — the one who'd stolen everything from him. Adrian's eyes burned the moment he saw him. "Damien, you have the nerve to show your face? If you hadn't set me up, I never would've—" Blood erupted from his mouth before he could finish. Seeing Adrian so broken, Damien looked positively delighted. His grin widened, features twisting into something ugly. "You'd better remember your place. I'm the Alpha now. You're nothing but a rogue who got thrown out of his own pack."

The rogue Alpha's words hang in the air like a death sentence. I flinched at that, but I regained my strength and courage so soon and I opened my thighs again, expecting the Alpha to see the star sign clearly painted on it. “I knew this earlier…” the rogue said, adding a chuckle to his words. “Hahaha! This woman is empowered, Alpha Thane!” He turned to the Alpha immediately and bowed, dropping his sword down flat to the ground. Alpha Thane frowned his face and placed his hands on the rogue's neck, twisting it rigidly. “You're too weak to be hired!” Alpha Thane uttered, as his fingers began to grow spikes that the rogue started bleeding. “I have no more need of you…”

Alpha Alvaro’s second hand began to draw his on his naked back, earning yells of agony. “Speak!” Dhruv thundered for the third time and he began to stutter. “He… He wants her… He wants to mark her… He wants it at all costs and he will stop at nothing… he says she is the ticket to rogues ruling the world.” He cried out and in shock, alpha Alvaro sauntered into his human form, his eyes blazing with great fury as he stared at the rogue. With his hands, he strangled the groaning rogue to death.
