The Plague of Desire
To celebrate the bumper harvest, the town mayor, Harold Boone, organized a movie screening.
Tom had gone to Evervale City to deliver potatoes to our children that day. Not wanting to go alone, I skipped it.
On the way to the screening, my neighbor, May Collins, called me and told me to hurry up, saying she had something juicy to tell me. She couldn't resist her gushing dramatics, and my interest was piqued.
When I got there, I was practically blinded by the brilliance.
My goodness! The entire village, young and old, gathered together, intently watching a movie. On the screen was a pornographic film.
