’ Heart thought. “Why are you making my heart beat like this, huh?!” Cullen screamed angrily as he grabbed Heart’s hand and put it on his chest. Heart’s eyes widened more and he could even feel and hear his heart fluttering. ‘His heartbeat, it is so loud.’ Heart thought while looking at her hand on his chest. ‘But, why?! I don’t understand.’ Heart thought, she was still clueless and speechless about this.

Then she tightened the grip on their heart. The pain the vampires were feeling in their chests was because Lexy used a magical spell to do so. She was somehow assuming that as the human body needed the heart to live, the vampires would also feel the same difficulty breathing when she gets to grip their hearts. It was not something she was sure of. But Lexy knew it would work since nature responded to her chanted spell. Lexy chanted a spell asking nature to seize their enemy in whichever way was the deadliest and most effective way. And she only realized that vampires would die by attacking their heart, squeezed or pulled out, crushed like an overripe tomato in one’s hand.

"Now! Let's see how good your Phoenix lineage is shall we? If I put your heart back in, and give you a taste of blood from your own little heart of course, because I certainly am not giving you my blood; it should be enough to get you back to normal." She grabs the heart off the box and glances it carefully, the small thump of the heart is still heard. "Now, since technically, you are part vampire, you need a dead heart, so!" She glides her hand over the heart, returning it to normal. The thumping of the heart stops again and she forcibly presses it inside her chest.

It’s frustrating that I could feel your uncertainty, but I can’t read your mind.” “It’s just… What if you change your mind?” I traced the neckline of his black cashmere sweater. “I can’t really rely on your words, you know. You changed your mind too many times since we met.” “I know.” He grabbed my right hand, pressing it right where his heart was. “But do you feel that?” I nodded, bewildered at the thumping beneath my palm. It’s interesting when every lore I’ve read spoke of vampires as undead, without a heartbeat. And here he is, a vampire with a beating heart.

I smirked. My wolf howled with triumph. I pushed Vexia onto the bed, pinning her beneath me. I loomed above her body then kissed her lips for some time… She was breathing heavily, her heart beating fast. I grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head. She wriggled under me, burning the roaring fire in my veins.

Her heightened senses immediately perceived the movement of his heart beat. She gasped as the rhythm of the beat fastened under her fingers. It was beating too loudly, driving her insane. She tried to move her hands away but Poison held it there, his eyes closed. “That's my heartbeat. It's not sounding too loudly, you just can't control your heightened sensitivity.” He opened his eyes and let go of her hsnds, staring at her coldly.
