POV DARLENE The Eighth Layer of Entropy did not greet us with the abrasive grit of the Foundry or the hollow silence of the Archive. Instead, it unfolded like a blooming lotus of Reflective Opulence. As the silver-grey twilight of the Seventh Layer shattered, it was replaced by a horizon of infinite, liquid-silver mirrors that stretched into a distance where the sky and the ground were indistinguishable. The air was thick with the scent of jasmine and cold ozone, a fragrance so sweet it felt like a physical weight pressing against my lungs, urging me to inhale until my very marrow turned to perfume.

Dozens of them, glimmering like fallen stars over the grass.

Aspen POV: Once we get home I jump straight into the shower. I want to scrub off whatever that woman has done to me. The only woman’s scent on me I want is my mates.
