The moon made room for morning without grievance. The afterglow held—less spectacle, more promise—and the mending, begun in heat, continued in gentleness.

He flashed his pearly whites at the audience and then with a deep breath, he resumed. "After love and fear, there’s pride; After tears, the night; After all the words are gone, A chair with just one light. After memories, the dream That you will come home safe; After sleep, another day Of waiting for my life. After hope, the happiness Of thinking of your love; After moments of despair A stone no thought can move. After all the sacrifice, The hunger and the pain,

I let out a 'woah' that I couldn't hold and when I turned my head at the lady, I found her grinning widely at me. I brought my gazes back to fog and saw Morris took lead, flying a few feet ahead of me. I stayed behind her, still keeping our fast pace. Soon, we were enveloped by the thick fog. One moment later, the blinding sun greeted us, instead of the soft light of the moon. I stopped short, almost forgetting how to fly as I watched the marvelous scenery before my eyes. "Welcome home, Cyan," Morris said beside me and I felt the corner of my lips shifted up. "Welcome to Luminozenko."

She turned to him, her eyes shimmering faintly. “Then let’s give them the rest of our light.” Together, they raised their hands toward the heavens. A wave of brilliance swept through the valley — not blinding, but pure. Every remaining star flared one final time, then gently dimmed, their light flowing downward like silver rain. The evening glow blazed like fire and was stunningly beautiful. I stopped in my tracks and took a moment to really take it in. That bright, burning sunset was like a glimpse of the life waiting for me from here on out. After clawing my way back up from the mud, my future would be just like the view—radiant and full of light.

“Let’s see it.” I turned the paper over, and revealed the poem scrawled in pencil on the back. The melody was full of hope and inspiration, and the rhythm fit in surprisingly well with the words of the poem. “In the stillness of the night, In the distance, there’s a light.
