Tenderness is a Dangerous Thing

Tenderness is a Dangerous Thing

she said with a light smile and opened the Poetry Anthology to the poem. ‘Coloured’ By De Wet Life starts with colour With a sort of spirit Only a child can give A parent is brightened By the mere presence the light projected But after time That colour fades Dimming Like a worn out jean A ghost Heavy and burdened Uncertain Seeking guidance Purpose Love But once found Once explored Colour returns to life And is reflected and spread

LOVE ON A LUXURY BUS

LOVE ON A LUXURY BUS

The most astonishing thing was that every title tried to minister to me so much more that I was confused. There is a poem titled 'HOPE', there was 'VAGUE AS AIR', 'DEATH AND IT'S PEACE' and other incredible poems all written by Trevor. I read each poem and felt as if he was talking to me directly. His choice of words, sentence construction and presentation of life scenarios embedded in words is just beautiful. Now this guy was not just a devilishly handsome man with a great sense of humor but a writing god. Then I came across the piece I termed my best. I read it over and over again muttering each line. The poem is titled 'SPEAK TO YOURSELF' and it reads thus...

My Life is not simple as all of you

My Life is not simple as all of you

Ji A said, “I am in a great hunger. My throat turned out dry. I think I am gonna die soon.” They didn’t find any pond or something. After a while, they find a small water stagnant due to rain. The water was dirt. Bo Ra said, “There we see… there is some water. But it is full of algae.” Sa Ra said, “I don’t mind it. We won’t die because of those little algae.” They drink that water. Their stomach is filled with water. They even fulfilled their hunger with water. They again started walking. Ji A can’t walk because of her bruise on leg.

THE JOURNEY TO PARADISE

William gently reached for her hand, unshed tears in his own eyes. He could feel it too... the joy, the happiness, The completeness. This was unlike anything he had experienced in his life... the feeling. It felt just right.... Like he was finally in Paradise.

To the Forest that Bargains Life

To the Forest that Bargains Life

I hope the hindrance would free me to let me see the real state of nature. If it's cast with magic or curse. And so the ideology of this thing's role crossed my starving mind that wants an answer. To be blind is to never see how gorgeously positive life is. To be in darkness is to view it with tragedy, terror, and nightmares. Life is way more spectacular than wonders and wonders are greater fallacies of life. We crave answers because we thought it might lead us to incandescence. But never did we think it's part of being sightless.

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match

The Wrong Vow, My Perfect Match

Not the weary man. Not the lost wanderer. But every life he had quietly touched. The reflections stretched beyond counting. The little girl with the wooden boat. The old woman beside the stream. The lonely stranger who had shared his campfire. The hungry child who found bread because someone else had been inspired. Each life connected to another. Like living roots beneath the world. The mirror dissolved. The traveler opened his eyes. Peace settled over his face. "I remember." Everyone held their breath. The child smiled knowingly.
