“The figurines,” I muttered, feeling helpless by the minute. What could I possibly do? Getting new figurines made out of gold was going to take weeks! How would I tell Diana? “They’re fake,”
“Show me.” He said, and I led him to the figurines in the showroom.
I covered my face while he inspected them. “It’s over. She’ll tear me to pieces.”
