Tangled by lies
Going around saying all those stupid words.
Ugh! I turned and headed to the island. I could hear him closely behind me. I faced him. “Help me up here,” I gestured to the island. He looked at me intently as if he was trying to decipher whether I was sure about what I’d said. I waited. He looked troubled, so troubled that I was about to give up. Then, without a warning, his hands grabbed my hips, sending tingling sensations, and I held my breath at the heat our closeness brought. And with so much ease, he lifted me and placed me on the island, leaving me gasping.
