I jumped to the level of the god just for myself to get punched back down. I could hear the concrete falling and the feet of the god matching towards me. I felt his heavy extremities, like the hoof of a horse on my neck. I managed to tilt my neck over to Maria, having an eye contact with her was enough until I saw what she was trying to do. She was trying to harness to power of "Gesture Magic." The most destructive of all magic and not just that, failure to get the right spell on time will eat the practitioner from the inside.

, I said standing tall straighten my shoulders, I could see Damien in the back shaking his head, he already knew I had the shield up. "You cant handle my best shot", Maggie replied with a smug look. "If you say so, try me", I said hugging my shoulders. "Ich fordere die macht der dunklen magie im inneren auf, sich zu entwickeln, Asche zu Asche, staub zu staub bringen dieses madchen zu bode, wo sie herkam", (I called on the power of the dark magic inside to come forward, Ashes to ashes, dust to dust return this girl to the ground where she came from)Maggie chanted, the air around us changed, I looked at her while she was chanting, her eyes closed and she was focus, but I knew nothing will happ

"The more you can let your energy flow to your base, the more you can control your magic. But be careful. This is dangerous if you are unstable, making the lines scattered instead of going in the same direction. One slight mistake can cause your life." When he finished explaining the theory, he and Aiken began to spar, combining both their swords and magic as a demonstration. Aiken's turtle green magical light intertwined with his Cerulean one, producing sparks whenever the two magic's hit and the clang of their metallic swords collided. This practice looked no less than an actual battle, making everyone, especially the new recruits who had never seen their supervisor's powers before, watche

"Defense against magical attacks. With the princess as your responsibility, you need to be ready for anything." "Okay. How do we practice that?" He pulled out a small crystal. "This will simulate magical energy. I'll throw it at you, and you deflect using your Eclipse power." "Sounds easy enough." It wasn't. The first throw caught me in the shoulder, sending a shock through my system. "Ow! That hurt!" "It's supposed to. Pain focuses your instincts." He picked up another crystal. "Ready?" I shifted partially, claws extending, and nodded. This time when he threw it, I swatted it away with Eclipse-enhanced reflexes.

"Mages can feel the use of magic around them. The stronger a mage is, the more clearly they feel it, and the more accurate they are in pinpointing the source." She stood up slowly, brushing off her long robes. "This is precisely why I told you not to use your magic recklessly now that you are twenty-one. Your bindings are gone. I have just created a comfortably wide containment barrier around this spot for our daily practice. The master mages already know my magic, so they would not be alerted to anything happening here. Yours, on the other hand, is new, and unknown. But any magic we practice here from now on will be contained."

Maybe some spell I can use. I keep flipping through the pages filled with my mother’s elegant handwriting until I come across a section on protective magic. The section is towards the back of the book and it has a boldly written title: *Knowledge against physical harm. This requires wolfsbane (purified), silver dust, flower petals of devil’s trumpet, and the spellcaster’s blood…* Spellcaster’s blood? I keep reading through the instructions carefully. It’s complex, but it’s doable. I can gather the ingredients and perform the spell to create protective charms for my father. Doing that will—

"What?" "I said, are you ready for your magic lesson? Or are you too busy daydreaming about a certain alpha?" His eyes danced with mischief. Heat flooded my face. "I don't know what you're talking about." "Sure you don't. Come on, I've got something to show you." The garage was Theo's domain—half workshop, half organized chaos. He'd set up a workbench covered in wires, tools, and what looked like crystals. "Magic is like mechanics," he explained, holding up a circuit board. "It needs a path, a channel. Right now, your magic is like this." He flipped a switch and sparks flew everywhere. "Uncontrolled. Dangerous."

Basic Classes: Magical Philosophy — How to think like a powerful being. Forbidden History — Secrets no one else knows. Ritual Architecture — How to build magic spaces. Ethics & Corruption — What happens when you go too far. Bloodfire Combat & Binding — Duels, Contracts, loyalty, and power. The Art of Influence — Magic through words, emotions, or seduction. Each title stirred nostalgia in me. I felt like I knew them by heart. Beneath those, a smaller note had been scrawled in elegant script, likely Mistress Lune’s:

Matthew teased me with a finger. A dry finger. Fuck, I could fix that. I summoned more magic, complicated magic this time, drawing on the formulas inked into my arms. My power snaked down into the center of my body, leaving my ass perfectly clean and as slick as if I’d used a bottle of lube. Matthew’s finger pressed in, and he hissed and jerked it back. “Magic,” I whispered. “All good.” He let out a shaky laugh. “No arguments from me. Fuck. That shouldn’t be so hot.”
