"Why didn't you ever tell me? How come you got to know I was real, but I never had any idea you were more than a dream?" Matt shrugged, chewing another chunk of his sandwich. "Different abilities, different magic, I guess. Like I said, mild psychic ability pops up in my family every now and then. My Scottish nana called it The Sight. A Native American friend calls it dream walking. My dreams have always been lucid, sometimes a little precognitive. I can talk to people close to me in shared dreams. Your family deal is finding your soul mates. I figure our dreams were where the two different powers, if you will, came together."

“So he will get powers as well.” “I can already transport myself places.” Elder Nadia nods with fascination. I hope divulging all of this won’t end up being our undoing. “So, do you have premonitions?” “Huh?” “Well, texts say that many woman gold wolves will have the power of sight. That’s a sight into the future, to be specific. It’s said that images come to them and give them insight on what could be.” My heartbeat increases as my dream dances in my mind. Is it that I had a premonition and not a nightmare? Is that why it felt so real?

"I don't know if you're aware, but I've always had a hint of precognitive ability." I didn't. "Cool. Can you tell me lottery numbers and stuff?" Sunny wrinkled her nose, eyes glittering. "No, silly girl. It's nothing like that. Usually it's vague and incredibly unreliable." She dropped her hand and gripped mine with her smooth fingers. "But since the coming of the Wild and all the power passing through us, I've been having clearer and more accurate visions." Uh-oh. "I take it they aren't happy visions."

“His aspect is precognition.” “I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that term in relation to witches,” I say. “Most aren't. Precognition is the ability to see the future,” the Headmistress explains. “The aspect comes in various forms. Some can see the near future, such as tomorrow, or next week. Some can see the future that occurs after eons of time. Some can see future possibilities. Master Tsertinand, however, can see the future of any magical object he touches.” “Oh?” I remark. “That is very specific.”

But it doesn't win all of them. Not exactly comforting, but honest in a way I appreciated. "I keep having these flashes," I admitted. "Not full visions, just fragments. Faces twisted in pain, darkness swallowing everything, someone screaming my name. I don't know if they're premonitions or just fear manifesting." "Probably both," Morwyn replied. "Your prophetic abilities are awakening, but they remain unfocused. Your fear colors all you see, so it is almost impossible to discern actual future from imagined possibility.

Lyra queried all at the same time. "Yes." I nodded. "How? and you did nothing?" "I didn't exactly see him Lyra, it was just a premonition and I happened to see him there, everything went blank before I could make sense of it." "You… had a… premonition?" She looked bedazzled. "Forgive me, you are so full of surprises these days, I didn't know you were a wizard." "I'm a primordial Lyra and that's just one of my abilities." I meant to say one of my abilities because I had others and they were all psychic ones.

Was I just being absent minded, ignorant or simply unaware? "I can't invoke to see the future because It àlways comes without warnings. It shows me what is going to happen any time soon in the future when I didn't call for it. It could come as a dream, a premonition during the daylight or any time when I least expect it. It always just set in without warnings but I am glad I got accustomed to it and now I can control it better without freaking out by the things I see," she explained but I was still curious.

One that I'm still not sure of. "We're all here because someone very powerful has taken a liking to you and has been following your situation. I can't say much more than that about that side of things, but I can tell you that everything I told you that day was accurate to the best of my ability." "And what are your abilities?" "Well, that's an excellent question; I'm what some call a psychic, others may call me a seer, but I just like to say I have very strong premonitions and can read certain situations that others may not be able to."

Alden was astonished. "That's why I went to Cornwall. I just kept walking and remembered the route to Cornwall." I thought about the incident at the house for a moment. "Alden, have you ever heard of anything like...well...reading other people's minds?" "Of course. Usually people with high spiritual abilities like clairvoyants are able to do that. Seeing both things to come and things that have happened. Sometimes, though they occur on rare occasions, I see what is currently taking place." "The only few times it happened were scenes that you happened to be in. Leading me to conclude that because of how special you are, I can now see things of the present. Which I'm going to take as a good thing.".
