“like a clockwork, the dominoes cascaded in a straight line.” Daisy’s POV You know that feeling you get in your bones? That feeling of something waiting to happen. Premonition, a feeling of imminent disaster. It has been a lot like that lately, the constant need to check around myself to be sure I was present. The startled jerk in the middle of the night checking on Blair and her well being. It didn’t help with the fact that I felt like eyes were constantly watching me. I had heard nothing from Kevin since the night he had found Blair and I in her tent.

He tensed again at this recollection, and I'm sure he didn't want to remember the man that had stood there, dangling me by my neck. "What did you see then?" he asked tensely. "I don't remember really…all I remember was seeing flashes of woods and trees and wild wolves, and his name just came out of my mouth," I told him, thinking back. "And when it caused him to let go of me, I just went with it." Bryson sat for a moment, thinking about what I had told him. "I had seen in a book sometime that some werewolves are born with precognition. Maybe you are one of them?"

“Doesn’t this seem strange to you?” Still wiping the table, Renee’s mind raced for an explanation. “I’ve heard of this before!” She suddenly looked up, feigning an epiphany. “It’s called a premonition dream. Basically, when you overthink something, your brain pieces together bits of information you already know. That’s all it is.” Her pulse quickened. She couldn’t let Carl dig any deeper. The truth about her rebirth wasn’t something she could ever explain. Chris, seemingly oblivious to the tension, chimed in, “Dreams don’t always mean something. I mean, I’ve had—”

“Yeah. So, I should probably start by telling you I am Moon Blessed. Well, both my sister and I are Moon Blessed, Joshua.” “Moon Blessed, how?” “We both have premonitions and can feel when trouble is coming our way. Last night, I had one of these premonitions. My sister did too. For whatever reason, it transmits to my mother, so she knows as well.” Dad interrupted. “This has been happening since Sable was pregnant with Jude and Jordyn. They have a connection that is really remarkable.” Uncle Jett then asked, “So the premonition…what was it?”

I shoved back in fear and astonishment. "Well, the nurses told me a fine story," he began. "What did they tell you?" "They told me that you told them you saw an old black woman standing next to me in church last Sunday. How was that even possible in the face of such an enormous congregation?" "Yes, I did. And not only that, she smirked at me knavishly." "Those are premonitions. And look, if you care about people, just stop talking to them about this ring." He stood up and placed the ring into his pocket.

“Have a seat. Maverick, would you please go and fetch her some water?” “Sure.” He nods, being completely obedient. “I’ll be right back.” Smiling, she gives another nod and then watches as Maverick heads out of the room, and once he is gone, she turns her gaze on me. “You wanted to speak to me alone, right?” She asks, making me realize that she sent Maverick away for this reason. “We don’t have long, so why don’t you tell me what happened.” “I think I had a premonition.” I admit, not wanting to waste the time she bought for me. “But I can’t be sure. I was in a cavern surrounded by many cloaked figures, and I was speaking about a prophecy that was coming to fruition.”

That's the signal that things are about to begin. Freeda is the sign that I need to be prepared for what might happen. In my nightmares one by one I see my siblings disappear. I was afraid it would happen but I just thought that it was just a nightmare and nothing will happen. But as time went on things were happening that I had dreamed of. I don’t know what these premonitions I see, I’m so annoyed because I can’t sleep either, I have nightmares and I just sleep peacefully sometimes. Sometimes I also go out of the house to look around the place.

“We’re on an island. You’ll need to be a bit more specific.” Gildeon exhaled sharply, frustrated he hadn’t seen more detail in the vision. “Mr. Ayadi,” the professor continued, adjusting his glasses, eyes narrowing with curiosity. “I can’t help you unless you tell me exactly what you’re looking for.” Gildeon studied him for a moment, weighing how much to reveal. Finally, he decided to ease into it. “Do you believe in premonitions?” Nowak straightened and nodded. “There are documented cases—foreseen events that later came true. Some people claimed to have seen them in dreams… others, through divine encounters even in broad daylight.”

I grinned, “but no backing out when you lose.” None of us could have remotely guessed what Damien Shadow wanted to speak to us about, and it changed my life forever. Premonition was a wonderful thing, and it appeared that my original fears weren’t unfounded. What he had to say was so shocking, so unexpected, so unbelievable that it took my breath away and turned my world upside down forever.

It's like I finally unlocked the real story, and it scares the hell out of me. "I saw a massive Shifter attack," I stifle a lie, "they stormed the cities, too many for us to count. They all came back and multiplied, revived by some strange force. We couldn't handle them. Every one of us died. I try to speak evenly, but I end up grating every other word. A half lie, of course. I had a vision like that the other day. Mr. Vigilance raises a thin, perfect eyebrow. "Is that all? Do you feel that this is some kind of premonition? Does it apply to prophecy in any way?
