Red Riding Jack

Red Riding Jack

I quickly walked over to Jack, who stirred in the bed, and crawled over his legs that were covered by the blanket. His eyes opened, and I bit my lip as they moved over the thin piece of clothing that covered me. What I had on was a simple seductive one-piece ensemble in red and white lace, paired with white stockings covered in Christmas patterns. "Good morning," I breathed out, and his eyes moved to meet mine. "Jesus Christ, Amanda," he whispered, resting his upper body on his elbow. I leaned forward with a small smile playing on my lips. "Merry Christmas, baby."

How To Tame You Demon Prince

How To Tame You Demon Prince

"So you were basically saved by a red hooded girl from being eaten by a Chimera? She even held you like a bride in her arms? Wow. To hell with Snow White, Aurora, and Cinderella, the new princess in town is Aurelius saved by the Little Red Riding Hood. Have you considered singing and talking to animals?" Sylvia teased as she dined with Aurelius in their tea room. The prince only rolled his eyes due to her interpretation and paraphrasing of his words.

HIS LITTLE PET

HIS LITTLE PET

I stepped inside, slamming the door shut behind me, and immediately looked around the small living room. Nathan was sitting on the floor, curled up against the base of his sofa. He wasn't wearing his usual oversized grey hoodie anymore, it was thrown across the room in a crumpled heap. He was in a plain white t-shirt, his knees pulled tightly against his chest, his arms wrapped around his legs as he cried.

Falling for the Shrew

Falling for the Shrew

I remember begging him for a story when he came in to tuck me in almost every night. The book was filled with lots of short stories, all of them about werewolves. I flipped to my favorite one, Little Red Riding Hood. It was about a young she-wolf who was taking her grandmother some food goods. Her grandmother lived in the forest oddly enough, instead of a pack where the little girl lived. When she got to her grandmother’s house and knocked on the door, a male-wolf answered the door. As soon as their eyes met, her wolf recognized him as her mate. It turned out that her grandmother had gotten hurt while out and the wolf had found her in distress, carried her home, and tended to her wound

His Little Hunter

His Little Hunter

I expected that haunting, gentle smile he always wore right before he broke me. The visitor’s silhouette finally appeared in my line of sight. Through the heavy gloom, I couldn't make out his features, which only fueled my terror. Could it be Him? No. This figure was too broad. Too bulky to be Michail’s lithe frame. The strike of a match hissed through the room, followed by the dull whoosh of a flame roaring to life. Warm, flickering orange light bathed the formerly black room, casting long, dancing shadows against the walls.

“We go to the weekend market sometimes to get our food. However, we have to take the shortcut through the forest due to the lack of transportation. A hunter friend near the forest tells me his niece is living in the woods. His mother and the girl’s grandmother also live in the woods, although in different parts. Sometimes, they would cross paths, and the girl loved baking new treats. She often wears a red hood. You can’t miss her!” Another children's tale. Zen knows the story of Red Hood in the Woods. Little Red Riding Witch

[Rosalynd] “Ah, Fiddlesticks!” I swear as I hang upside down from a tree. I’m working on my potty mouth since I’m going to be a mother in about 7 months if Dorothy’s estimation is correct. I can’t go around dropping sweary words every time I’m in a tricky situation. Like right now. Apparently, when traveling by shadow, you need to be VERY specific about your landing destination. I guess I was more focused on the trees near Axel’s house than the ground. Silly witch-fae-wolf-whatever.

Black Crimson: A Little Red Riding Hood Story

Black Crimson: A Little Red Riding Hood Story

Her hair was gingersnap red, which was what had caught my attention in the first place, and I found myself holding my breath eagerly as she turned so I could get a look at her face. I released it just as quickly, because fuck. With her lips painted bright red, her nose pierced with a gold hoop, and her cheeks mottled with a perpetual case of freckles, she looked absolutely delicious. But most importantly, she looked familiar. I pointed, demanding, “Who’s that?” Next to me, Gabby turned curiously. “Who?” “The redhead,” I said. “Short black dress. Bright lipstick. Plate full of food.” And she was currently lifting some kind of appetizer to those sinfully red lips right now.

When You Least Expect It

Ayo glanced at the ticket in his hand. “That’s the one.” I nodded. We went inside and found seats at the back just before the lights grew dim. People still came in after the movie started. The movie was Red Riding Hood, a fantasy movie about the remake of little red riding hood but she was all grown up now. It had werewolves, action and a little of everything for everyone.

I don't know about anyone but i just love the conversations in this book. It's very realistic, and relatable, and the way the friendship between those four friends were portrayed was marvellous. I could see myself reading more and more of this book. Kudos Author.

This is really interesting! I love the portrayal of the MC as most young guys are portrayed as sexual creatures or narcissistic ones. And I love the relationship with his sister, it's so real and natural. Nice work!

Frequently Asked Questions

Folklore has a way of twisting familiar tales into something far more sinister, and 'Little Red Riding Hood' is no exception. The original versions, like the one by Charles Perrault in the 17th century, didn’t have a happy ending—Red gets eaten, and that’s it. No woodsman, no rescue. It was a blunt moral lesson about the dangers of naivety, especially for young girls. Then there’s the Grimm brothers' version, where the wolf devours both Red and her grandmother, only for a hunter to cut them out alive. But even that feels tame compared to some regional variants. In certain French oral traditions, the wolf tricks Red into eating her grandmother’s flesh and drinking her blood before inviting her into bed. The horror isn’t just in the violence but in the psychological manipulation—it’s a nightmare dressed up as a bedtime story.

Modern adaptations have pushed the darkness further. Angela Carter’s 'The Company of Wolves' reimagines the tale with lush, gothic sensibilities, blending eroticism and brutality. Red isn’t a victim here; she’s a predator herself, seducing and then killing the wolf. It’s a subversion that digs into themes of agency and danger. Meanwhile, in 'Freeway' (1996), the film transposes the story to a gritty, urban setting where the 'wolf' is a serial killer, and Red is a hardened survivor. These versions strip away the fairy-tale veneer to expose something raw and unsettling. The tale’s adaptability is what makes it endure—it’s a perfect vessel for exploring societal fears, whether they’re about wolves or something far more human.
