I gently reached out and straightened it for her. “I’m the only Princess in the land,” she said finally. “I don’t want to be replaced.” Edrick’s head snapped up. He looked at me with wide eyes and opened his mouth to say something, but I merely shook my head and nodded my head toward her, indicating for him to address his daughter, and not me. He slowly looked back at Ella and cleared his throat again. “Why do you think that you’ll be replaced, Princess?” he asked. Ella shrugged. “You guys went out all day without me and had lots of fun. If you’re already forgetting about me now, you’re just gonna replace me with the new baby.”

A sense of peace rushes over me as Ella hops down the stairs and folds her arms over her chest. “I ran out of paint, and Aunt Poppy’s solution was to have me crush seashells for hours on end to make my own.” Ella examines her nails and eyes me skeptically until we hear the front door firmly shut. “Why is Princess Lorena of Windsong Gorge meeting privately with you?” “I am going to propose to her–” Ella scoffs, then breaks out in a sharp laugh that echoes through the foyer. “You’ve got to be kidding me. I didn’t think you were actually going to go through with this!”

I feel like I'm one of those bullies who takes advantage of their assets and make other people feel like losers. I maybe a Princess-like born with such fortune in front of me, but I'm still a human. I am also full of flaws and imperfections like any other person out there.
